    Re: Wii U Discussion

Think I'm taking the plunge on one of these here very soon...SMB3DW is a system seller IMO and I want to play WW HD, Lego City, Monster Hunter, etc.

Not to mention a new DK game on the horizon and Mario Kart and SSB.

Now just gotta find the best bundle/deal lol.

      Re: Wii U Discussion

Just picked up the Zelda Wii U bundle (Wanted to get the Mario Luigi Wii U delux bundle but they were not available online or in the store.) Picked up the Zelda Wii U bundle instead and Super Mario 3D world. Figured I spent enough on myself this year with the PS4 and all the games that I needed to get something for my younger son and the entire family. Tried out Super Mario 3D world at Gamestop and that game is pure fun IMO. Looking forward to trying out the Wii U at Xmas

Exactly what I'm gonna do...Wind Waker bundle and buy 3D World.

Had no idea Wii stuff was compatible with the U...makes the controller issue easy.

          Re: Wii U Discussion

I'm still trying to decide which system to get, but I keep coming back to the Wii U for some reason. I played a few games on the Gamestop demo station, and it surprised me a little that Rayman Legends was the most fun to me. 3D World was really flashy looking and fun too, but Rayman was a blast.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has had my full attention for months, and MK8 is the reason I even looked into the Wii U. That game is going to be twice the system mover 3D World has been. I'm not a huge Smash fan, but it's gonna be great too.

Got a little further in Wind Waker. Man I love that game.

Also Wii Party U is a very fun "Party" game. Played it at a friends house and picked it up today.

Still need to resume SMB 3d World.. I'm at world 6-3 at 100 % completion.

Super Mario 3D World is really good, and only seems to get better with each new world. I haven't played Rayman Legends, but I think Rayman Origins is one of the best platformers of all time. It's that good. So, it's not surprising to me if somebody says they had more fun with Rayman over the new Mario. For me, some of the tricks and newness of 3D World are diminished somewhat because of having played 3D Land.

                Re: Wii U Discussion

I'm thinking about getting a wii u...which is crazy to me lol.

The things that make me want to get a wii u is nintendo strong first party support. I have never seen one of their flagship titles be rated less than 90 on metacritic and playing them, whether it be on ds, 3ds or the wii always felt great.

                I don't care for 3rd party support. I have a ps3 and a ps4. I'm fine there.

Another worry is continual support of this platform. I'm scared to plunker down 300 and this console doesn't last me very long, much like the vita. With donkey kong, mario, super smash and mario kart 8..that's enough to make me want to buy one, but what will come out the year after that? that's my concern.

Should I wait after e3, when the price goes down and all the games, (well, marios bro and donkey kong at least) are already out?

Make sure you get NintendoLand! I can't say enough about how great a family game this is. You will get HOURS or enjoyment that last a long time. I know I thought it didn't look that good initially but it's very addictive when playing with 3-4 of you. If only 1 or 2 can play it then don't bother but 3-4 is fantastic.

How do Wii games look/perform on the Wii U? I remember back in the day on my PS2 when I tried to play PS1 games they had a ton of jaggies and the framerate was all over the place.

The new Zelda will be out sometime in late 2014 or in 2015 I'm sure. It's supposed to be a focus at next year's E3. I know a lot of people are asking for a new Star Fox, FZero, Metroid, etc. as well. I'll be pretty surprised if we don't get one or two of those in the Wii U's life cycle. I'm also expecting another big 3D Mario game whether it's a continuation of the Galaxy series or otherwise. One of my biggest wants is a Luigi's Mansion game on the Wii U, hopefully a completely new one and not a port of Dark Moon. Another Donkey Kong is probably possible too, since this one is releasing so early for the Wii U.

I don't have an XBox One, Wii U, or PS4, so my decision is pretty tough on what to get. The lack of sports games is my biggest issue with the Wii U, and I just wish I could see in the future to see if there will be a decent golf game for the system. I keep coming back to the Wii U, but I'm just not 100% sold on it yet. I might wait until January to see if there will be another Direct announcing the plans and maybe some new titles for 2014.

IMO The look just like they did on the Wii.
I even fired up Mario 64 on the Wii VC on the Wii U. Now that shows it age BUT man it's still fun.

They just updated the new rewards this week.

We've played a few older games on the U, like Mario sluggers, and they seem fine graphically. No stutters and looks the same. My one complaint though is one game (can't remember which) had a lot of background audio static. The audio capabilities on the Wii U are terrible IMO. Who designs a next gen system without a digital audio output? Pet peeve of mine.

The donkey Kong and super Mario are driving my reasons for purchasing this game. I never really bought Nintendo games when I owned a Nintendo console. Even when I had n64 I didnt have donkey Kong diddy Kong or Mario but I did play and enjoyed them.

I think I should wait but I've been watching gameplay of Mario and it makes me want to plunker down the cash and enjoy it. And knowing donky Kong comes two months after...ahh lol

Honestly, if EA would make a golf game with their knowledge of the motion plus that they had down for TW 13, but in HD, it would be great!

                                Alas, EA hates the WiiU.
