I'm going to wait until after BF and Cyber Monday. Who knows where my backlog will be by then.

I have Xbox One coming tomorrow, and I still have to beat Pokemon. So I am going to try my hardest to avoid both of them for at least a couple weeks. Not gonna be easy, though. They both look so good

          Re: Wii U Discussion

Ok so I haven't done much research on the wii u and was looking into it for my kids as their wii suddenly doesn't want to read hardly any games, only like 1 or 2 of the 15 of them so I am guessing the system is going bad as I have checked and cleaned the disks and they should easily be readable. So is it worth updating to the wii u for my 6 and 7 year old girls and sometimes my 15 year old daughter too?? They mainly play the gimmick games and are really into the just dance game(newest one). Is there also a list of games that the wii u does support from the regular wii as I read it's backwards compatible? Also does it work with the wii controllers or do I have to upgrade everything. Also the new tablet controller thing can you use only one at a time or can I use up to 4 like the regular controllers? Any other info you guys want to add I am here to hear.

Sorry I have been to busy with my ps4 to do all this research, probably a little lazy too, lol. Thanks for any input it's much appreciated guys.

Wii u works perfectly fine with wii games and I think most wii accessories, Wii Motes, Wii BB, etc.

As of right now, you can only use the one gamepad that the system comes with. No games currently support 2, and there's not way to buy one individually...yet.

With that said, all existing Wii games and accessories work perfectly fine with the WiiU to my knowledge. You can even transfer everything from your existing Wii to the WiiU (profiles, game saves, VC games, etc.).

                Re: Wii U Discussion

I definitely love the fact the Wii U is BC. Just unplug your old Wii and keep the controllers.

I with the PS4 was BC or that Sony offered a separate BC model. I'd pay an extra $100 for BC in order to not have two consoles under my TV taking up another HDMI and audio output which I don't know if I have any more. Plus you could trade your old console for the price difference really easy. Unlike the past where the old games graphics sucked so bad I would like to have access to some classic PS3 games like the Uncharted series and NCAA football.

On a separate note, who has played the Zelda game? I was never a Zelda fan in the past and watching a couple videos it didn't look that interesting. A lot of dialogue and it seemed slow. Am I missing something? Wondering if my kids would like it.

                    Re: Wii U Discussion

Zelda is right up there with the Metal Gear Solid series and it comes down to that feeling of success when solving a tricky puzzle or difficult dungeon. Windwaker is great because it adds exploration and definitey doesn't hold your hand. I was able to beat it by just cruising the sea over dozens of hours until I came upon a puzzle. Picking between Wind Waker and Ocarina is pretty hard for me.

Thanks guys. What age group is Zelda targeted for? My son just turned 9 so would Wind Waker be OK for him?

                        IMO no.
Lots of reading and puzzles. Boss battles are also probably a bit much.
But hey who knows. Each kids different.

Does the U do BC support for gamecube games or is the Wii the only one to do that?

Just the Wii. The Wii U is only BC with Wii games.
I still have 2 Gamecubes so I'm set lol
