    Re: Wii U Discussion

For those looking to trade in their Wii might want to wait for the U to come out if your looking to transfer your VC and WiiWare games.

Update - Wii Virtual Console Titles Not Playable on GamePad - http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/31715

    Quote:
Wii, WiiWare, and Virtual Console games will be supported on Wii U much the same way that GameCube titles were supported on Wii, without any special features or GamePad support.

In an interview with Nintendo of America, they stated that the Virtual Console transfer process was not confirmed to be available at launch, and would require both systems to be present and an SD card. The transfer process works much in the same way the DSi to 3DS process works today.

Metal Gear Solid is still a great game today even though there are likely more triangles in a MGS4 pistol than there are in an entire MGS1 scene. Looks as if MINECRAFT broke first day sales records. Previously held by Trials I think.
Sold more than 400,000 copies in 24 hours.

        Re: Wii U Discussion

Finally saw the videos on the Wii U and gathered all the info with pricing, specs, and how the games look.

I will truly say I had 0 interest in the Wii U, but after seeing what I saw, and read.

I'm getting one. I was very impressed.

Nice Job Nintendo I also felt the sports games look much more fluid.

Gamesradar went over the various options: http://www.gamesradar.com/wii-u-actu...t-scratch-max/

They're probably not selling a second game pad because parents will say no way when they see it costs $150.

            Re: Wii U Discussion

although i do miss playing mario and most importantly the Zelda games, the price point is just a little to high for me. $250 and i would be in, considering u can play wii games on it too.

does anyone know if they have announced a new Mario Kart for it yet? that the only thing that might make me change my mind. im in desperate need of a racing game and i havent really enjoyed one since Mario Kart 64. Forza and GT just dont do it for me.

I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

That link is useless and misleading.

As far as I know, this is the first console that is backwards compatible with everything. It's a pretty big selling feature that I can use our old games AND controllers from the Wii. That actually saves quite a bit money and doesn't add to the cost since we don't have to buy a whole new set of controllers.

That's why there's 8 versions. I never had a Wii so would have to shell out for them.

Yep. Between now and release I'll be picking up some used items (games and controllers) so release day isn't as bad lol

Plan on just getting 1 WiiMote and nunchuck plus some Wii Games I missed out on.

It was announced back at E3 2011 that a New Smash Bros. was in development for Wii U and 3DS.

                        Re: Wii U Discussion

Backwards compatible or not $350 for a 32gb system is terrible....anything less than 160gb is just insulting.

I don't know how much saves take but that is less than my cellphone and I could care less about playing Wii games on it. They were graphically horrible.

I want a true Next Gen console and so far the Wii U has minimal support and majority of the games coming out on it. I have on 360 and PS3. Where are the new and original titles other than Mario games and Pikiman?

                        Price is definitely too high!

If the system is fun that's all that matters to me.. Price "Too high" or not.
Plusn the 350.00 isn't JUST the system. It comes with a charger
Gladly take a newer HD version of Mario, Animal Crossing etc.. now over Call of Duty: Hardened, Hardcore, Elite, So bad-*** your momma will cry, Modern Combat on the Moon edition.

Knowing my daughters and I will have some more cool gaming time together is worth every penny. Not to mention all the games I wanted to play but didn't have a Wii, that I can now play.
It's a toy in the end and expect to have some good times with it.
Of course 6 months after I get it, it will drop 75.00 but that's the price you pay for grabbing at launch.

And I know I'm kidding myself when I say I'm not getting both the 720 and PS4. I am admittedly addicted to new stuff. My really only vice I have. Me and my wife can live with that..

I don't even think NSMBU and Pikmin 3 are the best looking launch/launch window titles. To me Rayman Legends, The Wonderful 101, ZombiU, Scribblenauts Unlimited, and LEGO City Undercover are more interesting.

I'm probably not going to get a Wii U at launch (was really hoping for $250), but I will definitely get one sometime next year. I miss Nintendo first party games, and honestly, just being able to play the next Zelda, 3D Mario, Smash Bros., Retro's and Monolith Soft's New IPs in HD is enough for me. I hope Nintendo takes a page from Sony and releases some Wii HD classics; after seeing screens of some Wii games on Dolphin, they look so good and because of their art styles they will hold up for a long time.
