I agree. My son will probably be disappointed. I am also amazed that there is no game included with the basic model...and no price yet on an extra pad, but you know it will ridiculous

I was considering impulsively buying one if the price was right, but not $300 for the basic model. It should be cheaper, but I guess the yen is partially to blame.

I'm probably going to be a PC only gamer soon anyways. This gen is getting boring and there's talk that neither Sony or MS will be out before 2014. Awful.

I had zero interest before, it's even less than that now. No clue who this thing is even catering to? It's priced out of family range, hardcore crowd has a 360/PS3 already, so what is it? Nintendo lost me years ago, and I don't see this pulling people back in. Guaranteed they will inflat demand again this fall and short ship the system to make "everyone want one" type mentality they had for the Wii.

The 2 SKU's are terrible, the basic is pointless, it's a $50 price difference, should have been just a premium system.

Overall, Nintendo won't catch lightning in a bottle again, and 3rd party will be gone by middle of 2013, like every other Nintendo system. First party or bust.

The Wonderful 101 is one to keep eye on. Kamiya-san is a legend and his track record speaks for itself: Devil May Cry, Viewtful Joe, Okami, and bayonetta.

Considering the bundle also includes an HDMI cable, sensor bar, and all necessary chargers, I don't think this is overpriced at all. I wish Sony or MS would do the same.

Well, the wii was outdated. So is the 3DS graphically. Whatever though. Anything that releases alongside a new Mario will sell, and sell well. And Nintendo first party titles are a blast, and an experience that can't be had anywhere else.

I'm psyched, and it's a great deal, at least for me.

This will be the first console of the big 4 I won't be buying on release day.

I like Mario as much as the next guy, but paying over half a grand for a few games over 4 years just doesn't make sense for me anymore.

A killer Mario Kart may be the only thing that could sway me.
