I think the GC/Wii Twilight Princess.

Yep, well unless you include Link's Archery School or whatever shovelware that was.

The Wii gets pretty much no playing time at my house. I've always wanted to sell the thing, but they always announce a new game from one of their popular series' to make me keep it. Right now that would be the Kirby game, after that this thing goes away fast no matter what they announce.

On the topic of the new console, 512 MB RAM isn't going to cut it anymore. The Crysis 2 devs already stated how difficult it was for them to develop for the PS3 because of RAM issues. Hell, even games like NCAA Football have some issues with it. Really a bad design decision if they can't increase that amount. I'm pretty sure Microsoft and Sony will upgrade that area with their new consoles.

I would be disappointed if Sony or MSFT have anything less than 4GBs of ram in the next consoles.

Especially how cheap it is, and how you can "never have enough".

I've got to admit, I am laughing pretty hard at all of the "hardcore gamers" in this thread.

That was Links Crossbow Training. An arcade style shooting game and it came with the Wii Zapper (gun attachment) for $20 or so. We had a lot of fun with that one.

I have to hand it to Nintendo for their innovation. First motion controls for the Wii. Now their next console having a tablet type device as a controller! Like an Ipad plus console working together. Could be huge.
The graphics are horrible, it can't play dvd's, and I don't give a damn about the same roster of Nintendo characters that populate all of their games. I also like good stories in games, something that Nintendo has yet to produce. There is absolutely nothing about the Wii and Nintendo in general that interests me.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I read the first few words and started shuddering, but thankfully there was more to the sentence.

It does sound really interesting. I just don't fully get what the benefits of it will be.

My thinking was, I could go lay in bed at night and still be able to play my games on the controller.

Or I could be watching TV AND playing Wii 2 because it's streaming the game to the controller.

Damn, I don't know why I never thought of that. When you put it like that....

And how much is this thing going to cost then?

Nintendo is usually pretty reasonable when it comes to pricing. Gotta give them credit for that.

Could be used to call plays in Madden.
In an RPG, taking out the map and its in your hand or for managing inventory.

When you consider the popularity of ipad/touch screen devices, coupling this technology with a console sounds like a good idea.

Usually, but now their new hand held is $250, their last console (Wii) launched for $250 ... so I can guarantee this wont see sub $300... and if it is in the $300 range, which it can be since it seems to be just barely improved 360 tech, the controller will be the money sink, but probably not as "high-tech" as people think, for the sake of Nintendo loving to almost 100% profit on their hardware.

Yeah, most of this is what I was thinking it would be used for, in which case it would be cool, just not enough to sell me on a brand new system.

But something like being able to take the controller and basically use it as a portable console when you're away from the TV would be amazing. Web browsing would be pretty nice as well.
