If I get to the point of needed extra play time I will look at getting the charger/stand certainly.
As long as the charger works with a cover on the gamepad I'll be ok.

Didn't you get the premium bundle? That came with a charge stand for the pad I thought...

It actually comes with 2 docks one that charges and one that doesn't .

Ok, I know it just came out but in your short time with it do you guys think the Wii U is distinctly different from the xbox 360 and ps3 or is it essentially the same thing with the addition of a unique peripheral?

I love the look of the new controller but my concern is that it is more of a gimmick than anything that really brings something substantially new and worthwhile.

As always, it depends on the games. The ports don't seem all that different to me, but ZombiU is definitely unique.

Yeah its a stand. What I'm talking about is the battery pack hookup you can have on gamepad when you're playing.

I agree with mrprice33 it's going to depend on the games. I'm sure most if not all Nintendo 1st party games are going to greatly use the new controller, just depends if 3rd parties stop being lazy crying about graphics power and create genuine games that take use of it. The early crop of games are a mixed bag as they are mostly ports so the use it as a novelty in most cases. But all in all it seperated Nintendo from the other 2 as they always do. PS3/360 die hards will knock it until like motion controls there system utilizes it as well.

Depends on the future games. It wouldn't be my only system though. It's my Nintendo games system and any 3rd party games that have good use from the gamepad is a bonus.

It's not a gimmick IMO especially if it adds to the experience and overall enjoyment of the games.

Yes, quality exclusive game titles will help the Nintendo. This is one thing almost totally lost between the PS3 and 360. There are almost no exclusive titles left which means apart from the controller and blue ray the two systems could be the same machine. Then again the other difference is all the online features which do tend to make a difference.

If Sony and Microsoft brought out knock off Wii U controllers then I guess it would come down to the list of exclusive games available. That is probably a matter of time too if the controller works out for Nintendo.

Dude... not to go way off topic, but have you LOOKED at the amount of exclusive first party titles PS3 has?? Over half of my game collection is PS3 exclusives. If one company has done well with that this gen it's Sony.

I was told by our electronics guy at work (Toys R Us) we are doing Wii U games buy 1 get 1 50% off and trying to decide what two to grab.

ZombiU is my first.

I have CoD and Mario and Nintendoland.

I am thinking maybe Sonic Racing. Any suggestions guys?

Assassins Creed 3 if your into that kind of game its pretty good, otherwise Batman Arkham City or Darksiders 2 are both really good IMO
