    Re: Wii U Discussion

So all the controller options are costing a ton - it'd be nice to just get a few pro controllers, but some games such as mario require a wii remote. Looks like this product can solve those issues!

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=operasport-20

edit - however since it works as a wii remote as well, I wonder how a game that can use pro controller OR wii remote with nunchuck will see it, such as sonic and all stars racing or I think black ops 2 as well?

My work had buy 1 get 1 40% off and the wife loves call of duty (zombies lol) so I got it with Mario. I think I'm going to get that pro controller and zombiu.

Yoshi’s Land Coming To Wii U

Best Buy and Future Shop are now taking pre-orders for Yoshi’s Land on Wii U. The game was originally discovered after an unwitting user accidentally hacked into the Miiverse and stumbled upon the name of the game. Here’s the product descriptions from both retail outlets.

Take Yoshi on an epic adventure to remember in Yoshi Land for Nintendo Wii U. Check out Yoshi as you’ve never seen him before: in glorious high definition. Enjoy dual-screen control thanks to the Wii U Touchscreen GamePad, while you’ll also be able to experience full integration with Nintendo’s MiiVerse service.

Join everyone’s favourite dinosaur in his first big starring role on Nintendo Wii U – Yoshi’s Land. Utilise the power of the Wii U Touchscreen GamePad to enjoy dual-screen fun in this epic adventure with stunning HD graphics and connectivity with the MiiVerse.
          Thanks, Aeolus

We don't need the motion plus for the Wii Remote to play the most games on the Wii U do we? If so I may have to get that adapter. I just have two basic Wii controllers with nunchucks at home. I know the Link mini game on NintendoLand needs it but I didn't think the other games required it.

I only have sonic racing, nsmbu, and nintendo land. From my experience you will need motion plus if it uses the remote to point at the screen during gameplay.

Sonic racing - doesn't need it. Can use wiiU pro, wii classic, wii remote with nunchuck, or wii remote tilting to turn.

Mario - doesn't need it. The wii remotes are turned sideways and used as controllers.

Nintendo Land - some need it, some don't. Luigi's mansion, Pikmin, it is used like a controller and doesn't. Metroid you point at the screen to aim, Zelda you swing to swing the sword, both do need motion plus.

So really it depends on the game, but I'd say you'd probably want to get it so you don't run into situations where you can't play specific games.

The best way to do it is to look at the back of the game box. If you dont have the additional controllers mentioned then buy them and if you talking wiimotes the only one to get is motionplus .

If I have the old wii controllers with the special motion plus connected to the bottom, is that fine? Or do I have to go buy new ones?

Dang just can't make up my mind on this system. I couldn't wait to play Madden and NBA2K on it but now I am having my doubts due to frame rate issues and possible lack of support. Looks like the other game (blops) i was going to get is really good on the Wii U.

take it with a grain of salt but ronnie2k mentioned that the wii u version will get a patch as well as roster updates within the next few weeks!

I did see that and it's very encouraging. I wonder it will address the framerate issue. Tomba how bad is the framerate, does it affect every possession down the court or does it just stutter every once in a while.

personally I can not play it. i am holding off until a patch comes. id not make the mistake of buying it again. I support Nintendo and all but the fact that i spent 60 on NBA 2k13 for it to be 30fps when the console versions on 360 and ps3 have been 60fps for the past 3 years is upsetting...

                            Wait that game out

                              Hey Guys,

Recently have been interested in picking one up and told myself may as well go look because they wont even be out there if i wanted to get one. Hit up a best buy and gamestop and was just laughed out of the building. walked into the walmart and theres 4 normals and one beautiful deluxe one sitting there.

I obviously walked out of there with the deluxe because i lack self control, what do i need to be able to play things like mario, i cant use the game pad to play correct?

can someone just list some essentials i need to pick up?
