Re: Wii U Discussion
basically its E3 now where we will find out about anything that make you happy to be a wii u owner...
Right now for me its the social media stuff and wii u panoramic and strett view that has me excited but thats all
I tried every wii u luanch game except for ac3 bop2 and mario u and to be honest dont know if thoae are worth it as theyve been seen before
Ultimately wii u is not catering to those holding off for a new zelda a new 3d mario or even metriod...Brand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: Wii U Discussion
Personally I'm having a blast with ZombiU and feel it's one of the best survival games and does what RE has forgotten how to do. So yeah we've seen zombies but as far as real survival game not for a while and with the addition of good use of gamepad it makes it very cool.
Again though it's IMO not a stand alone system and will complement my other systems.
For me its all about a new Zelda and other Nintendo games..etc... Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it.
I am hoping it does well enough to bring a lot more to the table and hope developers use the pad it good ways. Time will tell. The least I want it to do is hold me over while the new systems are realeased and probably up to a price drop. Especially if the new systems dont have BC.Last edited by Skyboxer; 12-05-2012, 02:10 PM.Joshua:

Re: Wii U Discussion
They did a lot of things very well. The save systems, unlocking shortcuts, dead friends showing up all add up. The lack of a lot of ammo etc.. really makes the game and you really need to plan out everything and take nothing for granted.
Only thing that I wish was a tad better was the controls when using the bat. Sometimes is seems the trigger doesn't register.. or it could just be me.
Just wish I had remembered to use the upgrade table sooner.....Joshua:

Re: Wii U Discussion
Tonight was the first night I got my hands on the system, and here were my initial impressions:
Controller:
- Wow. That's about all I have to say for a controller than I entirely expected to feel clunky. From the moment I got my hands on it, I was impressed.
- The button layout is a little weird, but nothing I cant get used to.
- The touch screen functionality is much better than expected! It really felt great.
- A nice, light feel. Easy to carry around.
- I was a little disappointed to find out that my controller could only reach about 10-15 feet before it disconnected.
The Wii U:
- My early impressions were terrible. I loaded the system up, was prompted for an update that took half an hour, and then was told I couldn't connect to the servers. But after one more try, and a few minutes of setting up my account, I was all set. Then things started going a lot better from there.
- Before I get into the good stuff, I'll start by saying the load times are pretty bad most of the time, but nothing I can't handle.
- Now to the good stuff. I'm in absolute amazement of Miiverse. I spent a good hour just browsing it, and talking with other people through the various community threads.
- I then set up my Netflix and was amazed with that as well. Doubt I'll ever be using my 360 or PS3 for it again. Works MUCH better on the Wii U.
- Browsed the Nintendo Shop a little while. Looks great.
- The main screen is awesome. Quote bubbles popping up everywhere, easy going music, etc. Like Skyboxer has said, this console will be an excellent compliment to those with a 360 or PS3. Much improved layout over the Wii.
- The options menu is a little disorganized, but again, not too bad once I got the hang of it.
- This has as much to do with the controller as it does the system, but I was impressed by the response time between the two. No lag at all.
Nintendo Land:
- Was initially disappointed by how bland the world looked...
- ... But after sprucing it up a bit with some prizes, the main area already looks but better.
- Played Metroid's game for a few minutes, didn't have much fun.
- The Zelda game was a whole different story. I loved it from the moment I walked by it, and thought Nintendo did an excellent job.
- The use of the controller, the retro music, and the art and gameplay design were spot on. Plus, the game is a real challenge thus far.
- The Ninja game was okay, but nothing too great. Just showed me again how much potential this controller has if used correctly.
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Did not expect to enjoy the console this much early in, but the Miiverse was a tremendous surprise. For forum guys like us, it really is a treat. The whole system gave me the impression that this could easily be my main console for the next year or so until the 720 comes out.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Wii U Discussion
I have Wii U gamepad question sorry if already answered but can the gamepad be played away from the console? For example I take my child on a road trip can they play games with just the gamepad. ThanksComment

Re: Wii U Discussion
Nope, it has a range of around 25 feet from what I've read. They wouldn't want to lose those 3DS dollars by letting you take this out of the house.
