Have you guys used the TVii service? Every time I try it's down. I wanted to try it during a sports game to see what it does. My cousin's brother-in-law got the Wii and I was told he loved using this service during the NFL a week ago. So I know it is available in Canada but I can never log in to the thing.
Edit: This appears to be an issue with the DNS settings. I had to go in and change them to get the TVii service to work. I thought the football stuff would be better. You are better off just using the NFL app with your iPad than this imo. It's not bad but it's not better than what's already done. Link below to DNS settings. What to do:
From the Wii U Menu, select "System Settings."
Using the Left Stick, select the "Internet" icon and press the A Button.
Tap "Connect to the Internet."
Press the X Button or tap "Connections" in the top-right corner.
Select the connection you wish to configure.
Tap "Change Settings."
Tap the arrow on the right and select "DNS."
Tap "Don't Auto-Obtain" and enter in the DNS info as follows:
Tap "Primary DNS" and enter in 8.8.8.8, ensuring you are entering the "." between each number, then tap "OK" to return to the DNS screen.
Tap "Secondary DNS" and enter in 8.8.4.4, then tap "OK" to return to the DNS screen.
Tap "Confirm" to return to the manual settings screen.
I clicked on the Youtube app and it says I'm blocked by parental restrictions but I don't think I have. Nothing in the parental controls blocks it as far as I can tell.
I'd like to save anyone else out there the misfortune of thinking ESPN Sport Connection would somehow represent a next-gen Wii Sports, so to speak.
It's embarrassingly bad.. Good in theory, maybe, but it's really no different than any of the crappy mini-game bloatware that plagued the Wii's catalog.
Yeah, all Nintendo has said is "right now" no games support multiple pads so no reason to sell individually...
We'll see.
I plan on getting it for the Wii u but that would change if friends want to play co-op on Xbox. I think the 2nd screen would be perfect for the tracking device and hopefully it used to limit the HUD.
Those of you playing Black Ops: are you using the gamepad, pro controller, or wiimote? I always used the wiimote on the Wii Call of Duties, but I'm playing a TON of Black Ops on the gamepad itself (off TV), that I'm getting more comfortable with the dual analog again.
Thoughts?
Also, after 1.5 months of the WiiU, I'm liking my purchase. I'm playing it almost daily, checking Miiverse, and doing a LOT of gaming on the Wiipad alone. Kiddo can play on the Wii while I play on the gamepad.
