This may sound weird but I simply feel so much less stress and more fun when I'm playing the WiiU and games like pikmen, zelda etc...
I've said before that I get more fun out of playing my 3ds and WiiU than I do anything else right now. I was thinking about picking up a next gen system next month but I am debating it now.

Yeah, for now, I'm cool playing my 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Xbox 360. I don't have as much time to devote to new systems and games. I'll jump to next-gen when Mass Effect 4 is released since NCAA is on indefinite hiatus.
Got the Wii U Fit from a fitness program at work...going to see if it can help me continue to lose weight (have lost about 20 pounds since last fall)!!
Is it true that you can't play co-op the entire time in Pikmin 3? So many of the games my kids love are games they can play together. A solo game collects dust in my house which is one reason Lego Undercover City barely got played.

That is true. The story in SP but there are 3 modes that are co-op.
Nintendo now hopes to ship just one-third of its original console target.
Wii U sales projections downgraded from 9m units to 2.8m
Financials downgraded from $950m profit to $335m loss.
3DS sales also "tweaked" downward.
Over at GAF in the NPD thread the info is the 3DS was the best selling hardware of 2013, and the Wii U sold over 450k units in December, though that may be the worst December for a Nintendo console in a few generations.
I know many have said that Nintendo can keep doing whatever due to all their cash on hand, but it appears that may change, via CVG: Nintendo 'thinking about a new business structure'
"We cannot continue a business without winning," Iwata said on Friday during a press conference attended by Bloomberg. "We must take a skeptical approach whether we can still simply make game players, offer them in the same way as in the past for 20,000 yen or 30,000 yen, and sell titles for a couple of thousand yen each.
"We are thinking about a new business structure," Iwata added. "Given the expansion of smart devices, we are naturally studying how smart devices can be used to grow the game-player business. It's not as simple as enabling Mario to move on a smartphone."
Went to watch something on the Youtube app today and the game pad wouldn't power on. Figured the battery died and tried to charge but it wouldn't charge either. Looking it up on the internet and I saw this is not too uncommon unfortunately. There is a fix that works for some, but does not work for me, so I had to contact Nintendo to send it in for repair. It's a good thing I kept the Wii motes so the kids can still play their games but the apps are out for the time being. Being so reliant on that game pad is one of the things I didn't like from the beginning even though I like the accessory well enough..
