I'm also getting a black screen flicker sometimes when I play the Wii U that only goes away when I reset, wondering if I just have a lemon.

I don't remember the exact problem I was having before the fix. I'm just grateful that this solution did fix it.

I've gotten back into Splinter Cell over Christmas Break and am addicted to single player. Haven't ventured online yet, but I really have no desire to...yet.

Wife opened up Pikmin 3 to dive into...and she's hooked.

        I love this system.

Looking forward or playing Pikmin 3 after completing Super Mario 3D World. I'm only on world 4 so it's going to be a while.

Also gotta make time to play Wind Waker and of course I'm picking up DK:Tropical Freeze.

Hoping to read some good news on Wii U sales. I'm thinking they were pretty solid during December.

            Re: Wii U Discussion

Not bad looking for WiiU worldwide going into Christmas by looking at VGChartz:

It's right around what the XB1 and ps4 did, depending on the chart you look at. They're getting their foot in the door in Japan ahead of the two other consoles, and while they're a bit back in NA, it's not as ugly as it's been.

Price + games will help. The price got lowered with some better in-game bundles, and now the solid games are coming and have been coming. Same thing that got the 3DS motor running.

I've had it since launch day 2012, and it's getting more and more use in my house. My son was playing some Madden 12 on the Wii yesterday, and I just sat on the neighboring couch playing Splinter Cell on the gamepad. Worked like a charm.

I got so much to or that I want to play, but I'm also a new owner of the Wii U and never owned a Wii. I haven't played anything on my PS4 in weeks, and that may not change much until March and April.

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, SSB, X, etc should keep me busy for a long while. I'm still playing 3D World and haven't played Wind Waker or Pikmin 3. I'm good on the amount of games.

Wife is waaaaaaay into Pikmin 3 at the moment. Quite entertaining to watch, I must say.

Son got Rayman for Christmas, so that's the next great thing...until I get 3D World

Playing through Super Metroid off the VC. It has gotta be nearly 20 years since I last did. Still awesome!

This may sound weird but I simply feel so much less stress and more fun when I'm playing the WiiU and games like pikmen, zelda etc...

Currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles. While the execution is different, it's reminding me a lot of Final Fantasy XII and for me personally, that's a really good thing. Monolith Soft obviously wasn't going let the Wii's anemic hardware hold them back from having an immense sense of scale to the world and explorable environments. The best thing about exploring the massive environments is how much you are rewarded. The sense of discovery is great. It's a bit muddy and jaggy on an LCD, but it's not hurting my enjoyment. Also, picked up a classic pro controller for more ideal camera control.

The concept of Virtual Console is amazing and Nintendo has a back catalog that nobody can touch, but their execution on the concept has been terrible. After amassing a good amount of games on the Wii their having to start over. I can understand needing to work on new agreements with third parties, but there is no excuse for Nintendo published games to not be on the Wii U by now. VC on the Wii U and 3DS is pathetic. Why aren't DS and GBA games on the 3DS eShop? Why isn't VC a persistent library?

Nintendo is missing out on a lot of money because they don't understand (or choose not to out of stubbornness) online infrastructures and how to properly devise a unified marketplace that takes advantage of their rich heritage.
