Don't think anyone's really glossing over it, just not interested in buying a console right now that will surely have a significant (30%+ IMO) price drop in the next few months, and could have issues getting proper support for if it's discontinued soon after.

If the price and games are right, then by all means go for it.

Hell, if she missed the boat on the wii all together, you may not be any worse off just picking up an original wii console on the cheap.

Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong, Wii sports, etc...

Amazing games for a young video game novice.

You have returned and/or purchased a Wii U 4 separate times!!??

I'm confused.. There have been like half a dozen great games for this console. Did you repurchase every single time a decent game was released?

Everyone completely glossed over the fact that this purchase was for an 8 year old's Christmas present.

Sorry kid, but the super cool present I was going to buy you was at the end of its console life... It just wouldn't have been the smartest gaming decision... You understand, right?

As far as the controllers go, I would probably just buy as many wiimote nunchuck combos as you think you'll need.

Thanks, man. This is really all I was wondering about. It's kind of hard to wait for a price drop when Christmas is right around the corner, and price isn't an issue anyway. I just wanted to make sure I got everything I needed for them to all be able to play right away.

So here is the flaw in mailing in a console for a trade-in as opposed to just taking it to a local Gamestop or Best Buy...

Amazon got my Wii U and I've been waiting since January 3rd to get my $168 credit.

Talked to them today and they said my trade-in was rejected as it's missing a power cord for the Gamepad.I asked if they could just deduct like $15 or something and they said "No, we are mailing this back to you, it is already in transit in fact"

Well I know damned well it had the power cord in it because I remember packing it and I have gone to my room and looked where the power cord was plugged in and there is nothing there.

If I had traded it in locally I would have had it physically there to dispute the idea that it wasn't a complete trade-in.

So here's the kicker, the guy told me to just wait to get the Wii U back, pack in the adapter with it and then send it back to them and he had me go print out a new shipping label. When I did that I noticed the price had gone up from $168 to $169..

That is what I am doing but this is absurd, the shipping fees of shipping this package around will end up costing Amazon more than the power cord they rejected the order for.

At least I do have my credit now (they gave me instant credit since I re-submitted it) but what a hassle..

GameStop trade in was $195 for Wii U. Can you retract that and go that route? Same with Wii. You get the bonus and it's more than you're getting with amazon.

Keep in mind these are prices when trading it toward the switch.

I have tried searching here, but still cant find anything. We are getting Zelda on the Wii U in addition to having it on the Switch. Our issue is that since about 3 or 4 months ago, every single game that we have tried to play on the Wii U will freeze requiring a hard reset every 35 minutes to an hour of play time. I have searched on the internet about this and have diabled the Mii and the other stuff, but we still have the problem. Wondering if anyone here has experienced this and what you may have done to fix the issue. Thanks
