I was on the fence about what system to get FO4 on. Decided on the XB1, along with infinty 3.0. Will play that with the wife. Looking forward to getting home again. Used the $60 gift cert from buying it, along with 15% from Cyber Monday and the 5% red card only cost me $40. Now if I can avoid traffic on the drive from Monmoth, NJ back to central MD.....

Re: Xbox One
I finally upgraded to Windows 10 recently. I remember when streaming from console to PC was announced I was like "meh, doesn't apply to me," but I gotta say I have been using it much more than I thought, and it's been awesome."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Never heard of this. Does this mean like streaming to a Twitch stream or something like that?

Re: Xbox One
I got an XB1 two months ago. I have to admit that I'm struggling with it. I've had a 360 for seven years (and still have it... might be buried with it, I love it that much).
I don't like the XB1 UI. I'm generally underwhelmed with the "graphics difference" between last gen and current gen. Also, I don't like the "patch management/forced download" concept. My Internet speed is not good. It's taking me 8 hours to download a required 7 or 8 GB file.
I got the Madden bundle so I had to obtain the digital copy of the game. OMG, it took a day, like 24 hours for it to complete.
Feels like the days of running to the video store to pick up a game are over. Ever have those days, maybe a Sunday morning, and you want to kill a few hours before the NFL games start, so you pick up a game at 11 AM with plans of playing it until 1 PM? Well, those days are gone (unless I'm doing something completely wrong... which would not surprise me).
I've read that even if I have a game on disc, when I put the disc in the drive to "install" it, what actually happens is a download of the game, complete with any and all patches is initiated (~50 GB total). This whole process is still labeled as the "install"!? I've read that I need to turn off my router, first, then when I actually "install" the game, it will actually do a simple "install". Then, when I launch the game (after turning router back on) I will be prompted for the required 8-10 GB patch/update (Again, what am I doing wrong? I'm in my 40s, so that means I'm "old". Help!)
You now need to "plan ahead" when it comes to current gen. What does that mean? Well, if you are taking Friday off, you better get your crap together on Thursday. If not, Friday is going to be nothing more than watching download progress bars creep forward while holding a controller in your hand (Again, what am I doing wrong? I'm in my 40s, so that means I'm "old". Help!).
I don't like the "Apps, Games, Queue" window/panel/concept.
It's not intuitive on how to delete a game from the HDD.
Seems harder than it needs to be to get into the "Settings" (Again, probably a short cut available)
I see a few 360 games that I own are now sitting in a "Ready to be installed" state/column. They are backward compatible games. I get that. How do I get them off my screen? I don't want them on my XB1. Do I need to see this list of games "forever" on my UI taking up real estate?
Do the controllers chew threw batteries quicker than the 360 controller did?
(Insert "get off my lawn" references, if needed)
(and any advice/help to get me better acclimated to my XB1!!!)Comment

Regarding game install: the games are much larger now and bluray drives aren't very fast. Streaming large textures and other assets off of a bluray wouldn't be a fun experience. I'm not sure why the process is so slow.
The new UI doesn't offer the ability to hide games you don't want to install. This could be related to the BC games. Since there is no 360 store on the one, there isn't a way to bring them back if you change your mind.
You can access settings by double clicking on the Xbox button and then scrolling down to the gears icon. You can also hit the start button on the dash and then select settings from the menu that appearsLast edited by sbauer318; 12-04-2015, 11:09 AM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Picked up Life is Strange and Tales from the Borderlands off Xbox Live for $10 each. Also snagged Rory Mcllroy PGA from Best Buy to finish a ridiculous Xmas haul of video games.Comment
