I did too and that's why I bought a PS4 Pro (mostly) and I don't see much difference for the VR headset to be honest. I love the PS4 Pro but moreso after playing Shadows of Mordor and seeing how awesome the graphics are on my simple 1080P set with the supersampled textures.

Re: Xbox One
Folks can hope all day Scorpio will be a new console but it's not, its an Xbox One and will be a part of the Xbox One family. Yes it is a more powerful Xbox One but it's definitely an Xbox One and will play Xbox One games and use its peripherals.
People who think that will "tie it down" or "hold it back" must not have ever played PC games.
PC Games are scaled and pared but all compatible with the hardware. A PC game in 2012 is a PC game in 2016. Just depends on how good of a PC you have whether it will run good or bad or fantastic is all.
Scorpio will produce some amazing games that will look and play a lot better than a regular Xbox One. But those games will not be exclusive and will simply play with less bells and whistles on a regular, launch day Xbox One.
Again, you folks can wish all day that isn't going to be the case but that's what is going to happen.
So think what you want but if you really think Scorpio is going to be a next-generation leap for Microsoft and not just an incremental step in the Xbox One family then you are setting yourself up for a huge disappointment.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
LOL...what goes one way does not necessarily mean the other direction in other words
In other words, you're looking at that backwards...would an xbox 360 play xbox one games?
Ditto for xbox one playing scorpio games..of course a scorpio would be able to play xbox one games, that's not the issue.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
I would not be surprised if we see Scorpio exclusive games down the road. I'm not hoping for it. I don't really care. I'm hoping the Scorpio is the best console money can buy when it launches. That's pretty much it for me.
What will the pov be if Sony announces another console that is near Scorpio specs as their next move? Will that just be another PS4?Comment

Re: Xbox One
In order to allow both systems to play a title, will MS require feature equality? Sony, for example, seems intent on forcing MP experiences to target the same frame rate. If the base PS4 cannot target 60 for a game, then the Pro won't hit it either, even if it likely can. It's unfortunate as it means that the Pro version of some multiplayer games will only look better and won't be more responsive outside of supporting a more stable frame rate.
Also, will MS be forcing a developer standard? Will they be required to expose options that will allow users to customize their experience? PS4 Pro support is basically the wild west. Sometimes you get options, most of the time you don't. Hell, some titles don't even tell you what the PS4 Pro version has.
Even though each PC game has different settings, you at least know there will be some kind of video options menu allowing you to pick what you prefer.Last edited by sbauer318; 01-06-2017, 01:02 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
There's no incentive unless Scorpio gets the install base to where it's huge....why would a company make a game for a system with only 10 million consoles or something?
Maybe in the future, who knows...
I think more likely is that devs will just optimize so it can be great on Scorpio too, that won't be that much work....Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I think Daniel's point relates to this, and is my concern as well.

Re: Xbox One
It would essentially be a one console exclusive as well. If a developer isn't going to support the base Xbox One, then they won't support the PS4 either. Sony won't let them just target the Pro. They'd have to ship it targeting only the Scorpio (limited user base) and PC.Comment

If they are making a game with Scorpio and pc in mind I don't think Sony not letting them target the pro is an issue.Comment

Re: Xbox One
If they're doing it for PC and Scorpio it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to make it for Xbox One as well....PC games tend to let older tech play still, so i dunnoNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Completely disagree with you on incremental step. 6 teraflops vs 1.4 teraflops is not little leap. There's rumors that it's going to have 12GB of internal ram too. Anyone who thinks this is going to be some little bump is nuts. I honestly think Microsoft got tired of all the resolution and performance talk and there's no way in hell they aren't coming out swinging. I enjoy my pro and love some of the improvements on some pro games but the jump on the Scorpio is going to be a lot bigger.
