The hardware is not necessarily what I meant by incremental though...the software is, and has to be, for and dev adaptation. By that i mean the hardware progressing quickly, in large chunks technology wise, is great but devs still have to learn to use that hardware and scale it across the spectrum to account for all of the hardware types from low end to the top end.

That's why when a new system like PS4 Pro drops people are often disappointed they don't see a huge difference. The hardware in it is a huge upgrade but the software will take a good while to start to utilize that hardware in any sort of worthwhile way, letting alone pushing that hardware to show off how great it can be.

This is all very reminiscent of PC gaming. You can buy the biggest and baddest PC there us but the day you get it you're still playing games that were likely developed for a PC two years ago..

Oh ok I get what you're saying. Personally, I think the jump is nice on the pro even though some are disappointed. Some of these games are already running native on the pro and they look great. As time progresses like you said the devs will only understand the console more and get more juice out of it. Some of these games are 1st year pro titles and they look good. I can only image with time.

Just realized that Bully Scholarship Edition is BC when I noticed someone on my friends list playing it, so glad I bought this game digitally way back in the day. It's one of my favorites all-time and I just re-downloaded it, really looking forward to playing it!

              Re: Xbox One

I've been having a hard time with digital purchases lately.

I mostly use my PS4 so I'm not sure if this is some sort of recurring issue over more than a few weeks, but I've tried to purchase both Xbox 360 and Xbox One one games over the past few weeks and the console keeps telling me that it can't complete the purchase. I then tried to purchase from my laptop and it gave me the same error message. I did some searching and couldn't find much that helped so I went out on a limb and decided to turn on my VPN on the laptop and try it and it worked without issue. I've purchased several games since I've been in Japan on both consoles without issue, but here recently it seems to be giving me issues with the One.

Also.. I received an $25 gift card at a work Christmas party and I tried using it to purchase Skate 3 and apparently you can't use money credited from a gift card to purchase xbox 360 games.... what's the logic behind that ? It's still money straight into Microsoft's pocket either way.

I shelled out the $20 because It's not that big of a deal, but why limit what I can buy if I'm buying it from the XBL store either way ?

I like my One for playing Halo 5 with the friends and co workers, but man it's been a bit of a pain to me recently.

It's some kind of limitation because the systems are different. Admittedly, it's stupid AF. But if you still have access to a X360, you can use your credit and buy BC games and DLC that way.

                  Scalebound possibly cancelled?

Scalebound, the much-hyped Platinum-developed action game that was previously scheduled for Xbox One and PC, is in trouble and may be cancelled, according to several sources.

We expect the official announcement shortly. When reached by Kotaku today, Microsoft sent over a brief statement: “We’ll have more to share on ‘Scalebound’ soon.”

Oh wow. I was interested in that game at first. Kinda got disinterested as I saw more but that still sucks.

I love Xbox and Microsoft but man a lot of the console exclusives are terrible or very underwhelming. Hopefully Scalebound can still make it but even then it might not be very good.

That was the game where you controlled a guy and a dragon with commands, right? Looked cool

Microsoft's track record with new IP is pretty poor and their biggest IP is way down from the 360-era. I don't know if something changed with Scalebound, but early on it was being sold primarily as this single player open world action RPG. Then for over a year what was shown and talked about was only 4 player multiplayer co-op.

Man I hate to be negative, but even with Scalebound, I think the current outlook of their first-party portfolio isn't all that interesting. Given how little we've seen and heard about Crackdown 3, I'm worried about it too. Sea of Thieves looks interesting, but can Rare deliver on that concept? And Scorpio is going to need to bring more to the table than just the power card to move the needle much for them.

Completely agree....and Gears/Halo may be good, but it gets a bit stale IMO....they need new things that don't suck like PS gets, to be brutally honest...I hope Phil at Xbox is trying to fix this over time.

Yup, I love the Gears series and the 4th one is great IMO but that's just one game. Halo is cool too but Halo 5 really was a letdown IMO and is definitely a bit stale, it just feels boring to me.

Xbox definitely needs some new stuff and soon, I agree that the Scorpio could suffer without some big time AAA exclusives to go with it.
