$399 would be very aggressive and sold at a loss. But MS wants to be aggressive and could see them doing it. $499 is more likely but this fall will be crazy either way.

I'm starting to wonder if your 599 will be more right. If they went 399 they'd kill it. I would think they'd get most hardcore console gamers who don't have a Xbox to get one.

I saw an article somewhere saying that the internals aren't cheap, so could cost upwards of 700 to make...which is making me wonder if the 599 is more right. Not sure, but we'll see

They are not going after everyone with Scorpio. It is targeted toward the more "hardcore" gamer. So I could see a higher price.

Yea for sure, I'm def feeling that 599 price point. It's a very ambitious sounding console.

And to play Sunset Overdrive you need an XBox One but you don't see me over here proclaiming it a system seller.

That's because Sunset Overdrive is a crappy game, LOL. Also, is Sunset Overdrive based on a major sport?

Most people buy a system for what games it plays, not because they love hardware. Now I admit, I am likely to buy a Scorpio just because it's got some bad@ss hardware but most people will not give one crap about hardware specs, it's all about what games they can play.

Here's the bottom line, if it's over $500 it's DOA. Even I am unlikely to buy that and I want it bad just because it's a beast. But going above $500 is going into PS3 crazy land.

Depends on the costs of production and how much of a loss they'd wanna take. This machine isn't for everyone.

That being said, I see $499 as the cost. They are using older architectures (Jaguar for the CPU and Polaris for the GPU, as opposed to Zen and Vega respectively) so that should help a bit on the price point. There's no reason this won't perform like a mid-level PC performs for a slightly cheaper price - because consoles squeeze more out of less.

I was just joking, but yeah it's not a system seller and it was a very poor example for anyone to say because an exclusive it is.

Just being an exclusive title doesn't make it a system seller. Even if it's good.

All system sellers are exclusives but not all exclusives are not system sellers.

I don't trust vgchartz to be totally accurate but according to them Sunset OD outsold The show 16.

And personally this years version of The show is making me want to return my Pro more than it's selling the Pro for me at this point.

It was a pack-in with a console, those numbers get added in. It's why Kinect Adventures! is the highest selling 360 game of all time by far.

My point is The Show is not a system seller, no matter what people want to think. Something like Uncharted, even though I cannot stand that game, is a system seller.

I won't even call my favorite game thus far of the year a system seller (Persona 5) and that game shipped 1.5 million units in 3 days, which is absurd if you know anything about that series.

It's not primarily about sales though. Sunset OD outselling The Show means nada. It's a combination of things. Being exclusive is first of course. An intangible such as being based on a major sport, which The Show is, is another. And then yet another intangible is there is no baseball simulation type games on any competition so if you're a huge baseball fan who wants a console then you're likely going to buy a PS4 over an Xbox One.

It works both ways of course, some people have bought Xbox One over PS4 because the racing games are superior on the One.

The Show is definitely a system seller over a game like Uncharted. Xbox One has Tomb Raider for example which someone who wants a game like that can buy. But the Xbox One has no comparable game to The Show.

I thought pack in and digital are not added in? That's news to me.
