The X hasn't been approved by the FCC for sale yet, so there won't be any pre-orders until that happens.

I don't see the X dropping in price any time soon after launch. I think the answer to the people looking for a price drop will be buying an S for a while.

I wouldn't expect any price drop for at minimum a full year after release.

          Re: Xbox One

For me, the $500 price tag is secondary. Primary reason im no longer buying Scorpio is because I already own a PS4 Pro and despite the power difference of Scorpio, I don't see third parties doing any different than what they do on Pro. First parties definitely but the only first party game I care about is State of Decay 2 which is spring 2018. And I already own an Xbox One Slim so im passing.

The best games for me at Microsoft's press conference were Metro Exodus which was running off a high end power PC, Assassin's Creed Origins which was running in checkerboard 4K at 30fps, Anthem which was said to be running off Scorpio in 4K checkerboarding at 30fps and Shadow of War being the only game running in native 4K at 30fps which is great in general but out of these four games, it's my least interested.

At the end of the day, it's going to come down to each consoles first party exclusives because those are the games that will be running and playing at their best due to the developers only having to work and optimize for one console brand.

I was hyped before E3 and all in but after the conference, my interest was and still is pretty much gone. If I didn't own a Slim then I would probably just double the amount of buy Scorpio.

For those thinking that im only bashing Microsoft/Xbox, don't because I also decided to sell my Switch Pro controller on neogaf since I have eliminated this console too. Simply no point for me. One exclusive game for each console, I already own a Slim and my hype for both is just pretty much gone.

For those who buy Scorpio, I hope you greatly enjoy it.

Same. Well I'm gonna get Scorpio at launch but anything I play online I get on the Microsoft console and I'm definitely gonna need to play red dead in its best form.

Loved Madden 17, so 18 is an easy buy. There is not doubt in my mind that EA is going to make the XB1X version ridiculously better than the Ps4 Pro. Same goes for NHL and NBA Live. I think NBA 2K18 is going to much better on the XB1X.

Battlefield, Anthem, and Assassin's Creed will all utilize their PC textures and play significantly better on the XB1X. I don't think it is the case on the PS4 Pro, but Microsoft has made it easy and near automatic to produce a game for the XB1 that will scale from XB1S to XB1X.

Right now, the only game I expect to grant Sony their parity wish is Destiny.

For me, I have no qualms about the XB1X on day one. None.

Their track record speaks otherwise so I doubt it. I remember when PS3 had much better hardware than Xbox 360 but the game still played pretty much identical from PS3 to Xbox 360.

I believe there will be a noticeable upgrade from Xbox One to Scorpio and from PS4 to PS4 Pro but the Scorpio and Pro versions will be identical.

But PS3 had custom hardware that was difficult to develop for - only first party games put in the time to take full advantage. All consoles now are fairly similar to PC so it is easy enough to scale between the hardware, from what I understand based on the feedback from developers that has been mentioned in various interviews.

Yeah we are definitely at a different point now. Just gotta hope devs take advantage of what's in front of them.

That's very true, however, I think the bigger reason is simple, EA will enhance it for the better systems but enhance it even further for a specific system is just even more time and money and not much incentive for them to do it.

I'll be getting Scorpio so that'd be really cool if they 100% maximized the hardware for the game but I just don't see it happening.

That's what I hoping for since RDR2. I am just thinking this is such an anticipated game, they may want to use Scorpio's power as a "game changer"

Some devs will definitely use the power to their advantage. At a certain point others will have to follow suit or it will be a bad look.

Oh some definitely will but EA won't for their sports games. They never have optimized like that.

I'd expect a game like Red Dead Redemption 2 that is multi-platform though to look better on Xbox Scorpio than PS4 Pro for example.

But EA Sports? Come on, we all know that ain't happening, LOL...
