Supposedly, it's a patent issue on Microsoft's part. Once they get approved for the patent (and nobody else can use what they're getting patented), they'll roll it out for preorder. That's what the GameStop manager told me, so take it for what it's worth. Haha.

As for what Jay D said, I almost went back to PS4 for The Show. My son and I love it and enjoyed playing it the last few years, but I've heard a lot of negative feedback from The Show 17. In the end, I really love EA Access. Best gaming investment I've possibly ever made!

Honest, as of today my excitement for the One X has sky rocketed through the roof.


I have so much invested in MS as far as all the digital games I have and bought.

Ok, I have to speak up on this. The Show has fantastic reviews and currently sits at 85 on Metacritic. Or did you mean you read things in forums bad about it? If so, I guess you won't be buying any game ever because that's how game reviews go here on Operation Sports.

Now is the Show without issues? Heck no, it has issues, but it was a fantastic game at launch and still is a fantastic game, probably about the best sports game there is for any system. Now the launch day online stuff and weeks after it were utter and complete nonsense and there's no excusing it. But the actual game was not to blame. The Sony servers were.

The idea that The Show is not a good game this year is utter nonsense. If you're a baseball fan then you really are missing out on a truly fantastic game.

The show was a mess at launch. Far from fantastic. I rarely play it or my pro now. I'll probably keep my pro regardless though.

I've played and enjoyed The Show for years, and I agree it's one of the best sports series out there. That being said, I'll take opinions from players at Operation Sports over the Metacritic score every day of the week! Metacritic is a joke. I've learned which website scores I can trust over the years, and Metacritic is an average of scores from websites I've learned not to trust as much over the years.

There was nothing wrong offline with The Show at all at launch. I played it all the time from day one on and aside from the opening where you had that "cannot connect to servers" the game played just fine. Again, no excusing that online not working and they made the game need to connect to the servers, but the actual game worked great and was/is a fantastic game of baseball.

My point is come here and see what people have to say about ANY sports game and you'd think it was awful and utter trash. Go ahead, check out the Madden forums after Madden 18 drops and form an opinion of it based upon that, LOL. To go by what the people in the forums say is not a good idea as to what to base your opinions on games are. Now if you know specific, reasonable, level headed people from OS who you know are like you about games, then that's a bit different but I'm talking about just forming an opinion based upon the forums general comments on a new game is just a horrible idea.

Going by Metacritic and a conglomeration of reviews is much better than going by what the pissy "socks aren't right, I ain't buying" mob here thinks.

I get your point and EA Access is awesome, but I couldn't let that comment stand that this year the Show was somehow lesser than previous years. The only aspect of The Show that was lesser than previous years was the server issues at launch but that was/is a problem that seemingly afflicts a lot of games anymore. The game itself kicks total @ss.

Being at OS since 2005 or however long it's been, this has been my strategy for years now. There are a lot more complainers at OS than level-headed gamers, but there are plenty of great ones as well. I know by now which ones I'm similar to, and those are the ones I trust more than all the other biased websites out there.

For the online player it was essentially broke at launch. I have a hard time using the word "fantastic" when attached to the show launch in any way.

Likewise, I have been going back and forth on it for the past month or so and with my PS4.

I also have a lot invested in MS and my digital library/saved games and I'm hyped for the X now.

Sports games wise, NBA 2K is overall the best followed by MLB The Show and then probably FIFA. Considering the fact that the games are even playable on release day considering that they have nine month cycles is pretty impressive.

And aren't the majority of problems for any game always revolved around "online"? Except for AC Unity, I haven't had a problem with any of the other 43 games that I have completed this generation while playing off-line single player which is just one of the many reasons why im not an online gamer as I don't have the patience to be dealing with lag, connection problems and whatever other problems that exist when playing online.

Can't speak for anyone else but the last thing I want to play a game on day one but yet, not be able to play it because of server issues or other problems which in turn means waiting for a patch. No no no. Simply not wasting my time waiting for any game to be fixed.

Hell, the only reason why I played and completed AC Unity was because it was months later as I played AC Rogue and Far Cry 4 before Unity. If it wasn't for those two games, there would have been a good chance that due to the bugs and glitches in Unity (even though I do think that it was overblown), I may not even have completed the game.
