Re: Xbox One
Love the concept of the xbox one x
BUT
what does it really do?
lets see
makes Forza 7 better
makes madden better
makes pes 2018 better but still doesn't allow kits through usb
makes most titles better but has no real exclusive "oh my gosh" titles you just have to play it on
I am being negative but I do have it preordered too so im excited for the"tech" side of it but not the gaming side as muchStreaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Xbox One
So I've done some searching and have yet to find a definitive answer, if I'm gaming on a 1080p set, will all games benefit from the supersampling? Is it up to developers to support supersampling on a game by game basis? Or am I totally off on my understanding and the supersampling is really just a by product of a 4k game on a 1080 TV? Like if I threw in fifa 15 for example, would I see any benefit?

If a developer patches a game to 4K or 4K checkerboard or 1800p native it will downsample to 1080tv without the developer having to include it in the patch. This means the X will do it for you
On your 1080tv the 4k image will still apply but downsampled to your 1080p image which will mean a sharper picture and much better aa
What the X does for non patched old games is if they have dynamic resolution it will lock or hit the higher end of that resolution far more
Like a game being dynamic 900p to 1080p...it will set it at 1080p and lock the frame rates if they also go up and down
it offers immense value to 1080p owners without the dev having to do the work
Of course the best benefit is for those on 4K tvsComment

Re: Xbox One
10 days to go fellas..... Who is doing a midnight pick up and who is waiting for delivery?
You guys have your games on an external drive already?
Anybody getting the Elite Controller?
Dolby Atmos headphones?
What are the plans...Which games first?Comment

Xbox One
Gonna pick mine up after work.
My external is ready to go. Updated diablo and gears already.
Not getting elite.
As far as I know the atmos app turns any headphones into doby atmos doesn’t it?
I wanted to finish or start ROTT over again first. Gonna be hard to not start Assassins creed though I think. Gotta think about Gears too.
I’m also going to check out what it does for Ark survival evolved first day too. Mainly because I would love for that game to run a lot better.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Otherwise, I have my external, although I may see into getting a larger one.
I've had my elite controller for some time. Love it.
May consider getting an Atmos sound bar, but will have to sneak that past the wife, too. And there is no real good reason to replace my current one.
But how about this for getting 4K ready? I have an eye condition called keracotonus that causes a lot of ghosting and blurry images due to a thinning and sagging cornea. It's been getting harder and harder to treat with glasses, so I have a new set of scleral contact lenses coming in just 8 days.
The scleral is the white of your eyes. So the lens sits on the white of my eyes, and then is a dome over my cornea, acting as a sort of faux cornea. I had a fitting two days ago, and it was kind of amazing. When I first got my glasses I said it was like the world just turned HD. Well, from the vision I was getting in the office, this will be like the world turning 4K.
I've never worn contacts in my life. Until just a few of years ago, the only answer was hard rigid lenses. And those are hard on your eyes. One eye doc recommended I wait because if you go to those lenses to soon, you may have to stop wearing them when you are still young enough to need good eyesight. But the scleral lenses felt really comfortable right away.
The trick is getting them in and out. Because of the dome, it has to be filled with saline solution. In order to do that, you have to fill it and then insert the lens while looking straight down, as you push a plunger with the lens on it up into your eye. Soon I will be able to do this! https://imgur.com/UnhkhVDComment

Re: Xbox One
Haven't had an Xbox since my 360 died on me so I'm definitely excited. Picked up Forza 7, Assassin's Creed Origins, and CoD (when it comes out) so I've got some new stuff to play. Figure I'll find some deals on used, older Xbox games I never got the chance to play.
Either way, I'm ready to go... I'll deal with the backlash when it comes to that haha
