    Re: Xbox One

Just paid mine off today, worked out good cause I had 200$ In gift card money from health program for insurance at work next year so I put that on a Gamestop card. Was going to put it on a Amazon card then it hit me. Also sold 4 cheesecakes over the last 3 weeks 3 at 35$ and 1 at 40$ so I just paid the difference.

I'm off Nov 6th and 7th so will just pick it up Tuesday morning. I have a 5tb external drive already, it's only 30% filled with about 53 games on it.

My wife has known for months I'm buying Scorpio but I told her I was going to sell it. She has continuously said she knows I won't... I really did plan to flip it. But now it doesn't appear to be going for much so I am just going to keep it. She will be mad but I'm going to offset it by telling her I've decided not to get the iPhone X until next year...

But yeah I'll be in the doghouse for a couple of days... Bleh

Haven't had an Xbox since my 360 died on me so I'm definitely excited. Picked up Forza 7, Assassin's Creed Origins, and CoD (when it comes out) so I've got some new stuff to play. Figure I'll find some deals on used, older Xbox games I never got the chance to play.

Either way, I'm ready to go... I'll deal with the backlash when it comes to that haha

Haha. This is what I do all the time for better or worse. She still hasn't noticed the Sonos sub (well she noticed it but didn't realize it was a new sub) behind the couch. But I got caught red handed when I purchased the GTX 1080 Ti. Thought I was super smooth too. Installed it when her and the kids weren't home. Had everything cleaned up and good to go. She uses her laptop mostly and doesn't game so I thought I was home free. Put my old card in the new box (to maybe sell or give to a friend later) and shoved it under the bed which she hasn't been under in forever. Good to go. Went to work the next day and she sends me a pic half way through of the box asking why, price, blah blah blah lol. Was in the dog house for awhile on that one.

With all that that's the main reason I'm holding off on the X for now. Just can't justify dropping that kind of money after getting the 1080 Ti. Looking forward to getting impressions from you guys though.

My birthday is the 10th and I got a feeling I may get one for my birthday from my wife & kids. But I let my XBL subscription & gamertag die long ago with the 360 when I jumped to psn & PS4.

I've been playing it smart, though. I already used my eyes as an excuse to upgrade to a bigger TV last spring, which just happened to be 4K.

            Really can't wait.

Otherwise, I have my external, although I may see into getting a larger one.

I've had my elite controller for some time. Love it.

May consider getting an Atmos sound bar, but will have to sneak that past the wife, too. And there is no real good reason to replace my current one.

But how about this for getting 4K ready? I have an eye condition called keracotonus that causes a lot of ghosting and blurry images due to a thinning and sagging cornea. It's been getting harder and harder to treat with glasses, so I have a new set of scleral contact lenses coming in just 8 days.

The scleral is the white of your eyes. So the lens sits on the white of my eyes, and then is a dome over my cornea, acting as a sort of faux cornea. I had a fitting two days ago, and it was kind of amazing. When I first got my glasses I said it was like the world just turned HD. Well, from the vision I was getting in the office, this will be like the world turning 4K.

I've never worn contacts in my life. Until just a few of years ago, the only answer was hard rigid lenses. And those are hard on your eyes. One eye doc recommended I wait because if you go to those lenses to soon, you may have to stop wearing them when you are still young enough to need good eyesight. But the scleral lenses felt really comfortable right away.

The trick is getting them in and out. Because of the dome, it has to be filled with saline solution. In order to do that, you have to fill it and then insert the lens while looking straight down, as you push a plunger with the lens on it up into your eye. Soon I will be able to do this! https://imgur.com/UnhkhVD
I have this same eye condition and I currently wear the rigid contacts and glasses, but I was thinking about looking into the contacts that you are getting I heard they give you even better vision then the rigid lens and are way more comfortable. But as far as gaming goes I could never game with my glasses on I would have to have my contacts to get any kind of detail out of the game which sucks but I'm used to it now.

We've got an Amazon Echo/Dot in most rooms and I've got a 4k FireTV Stick on order for the last TV that's not connected to them. Soon we'll be able to control our TVs with our Echo devices, just won't be able to control or interface with any of the consoles.

The first Cortana speaker is just now up for order and Google was pretty late to market with Google Home. Missed opportunities.

Disappointing outcome, wish they did so much more with the technology, just kinda pigeonholed into gaming. They could have beat everyone to the home automation punch by a number of years.

If my Gamestop is doing a midnight launch, Im thinking about going in to pick it up just to have it in my possession. Im in Colorado so im hoping they let us pick it up at 10pm MT on Monday night. I know they did that for the PS4 pro so I hope it is the same process. Most likely won't hook it up until the morning but Ill enjoy my unboxing with a nice cup (or 2 or 3) of coffee and enjoy the 4k goodness!!

I have about $100 left on my preorder but I plan on trading in my XB1 slim (I think Gamestop is doing $150 trade in of the Slim towards the XB1 on launch day) so I should be all paid off. I think I may also tack on a product replacement plan from Gamestop as well. It did come in handy when I had to replce my PS4 Pro. If it werent for the Show, i think I would trade in my PS4 but I need my baseball fix so that is out of the question.

I already own the Elite controller and own a pari of Astro A40 headphones but am considering getting some dolby atmos ones to go with my XB1 X. All my games are on my external hard drive so I should be able to just plug in my HDD and just go.

All in all, November 7th can't come soon enough!!

Yes, and no. In regards to voice control, they were way ahead, but didn't continue to develop it into a more useful feature. Microsoft could have released an Echo typed vice that also communicated wit the console. All we really used Kinect for was voice commands.

But the camera was just a big swing and miss. Had some nice features, but was not worth the price tag. It was never a good addition to gaming, to be honest.

Going to have that on the One X, get it setup the evening I get it and queue up a bunch of network transfers from the other two consoles before putting the Day 1 edition away, lol.

not sure if posted but Outlast will be native 4k and 60fps on the X as per the devs. No HDR though

The PRO was enhanced to 1440p so that is a huge huge jump for the X

Red Barrels Games revealed that Outlast II is close to selling 1 million units. They also confirmed the game runs at 4K@60FPS on Xbox One X.

Just curious on what's everyone's opinion on the matte black standard edition vs the black fading into grey on the project Scorpio edition ? Anyone decided to go with the standard edition for the all black look ?

I personally like the look of the matte black better than the Scorpio edition, but want the Scorpio edition one because of the novelty of it being the Scorpio edition.

Wanted the Scorpio but did not want to get it delayed or whatnot and prefer to pick up midnight and game

My thing about the Scorpio is the controller buttons being all black is dope...but the console itself I prefer the standard black
