Yes because Game Mode is not tied to UHD...its just a setting to disable processing by the tv to reduce input lag...Very important to use it

Question for anyone who has ever bought a Best Buy Geek Squad warranty:

If I buy the Geek Squad warranty and my Scorpio breaks down in say 3 months can you just go to Best Buy or since it is still under the Microsoft warranty will they make you first go through Microsoft for a replacement?

Just go to Best buy and they should fix or replace it. Likely just replace it.

I️ don’t agree with this exactly. With games like 2k, madden, cod etc. I️ would use game mode. If I’m playing a single player campaign though I️ never use game mode. No reason to downgrade the image in those instances imo.

Samsung owners - I'm reading on AVS forums for Scorpio to ensure you manually set your TV to be 10 bit in your Xbox settings.

Have you guys done this? Don't use 12 bit settings as I guess that is for Dolby vision.

Also, I'm reading some sort of big update is coming November 27th but I don't know if that will fix the HDR notification issue not showing up or not.

Where is this setting on the Xbox? I assumed under display and sound but don't see anything about bits.

That feature literally already exists, it's in the settings:

Settings > System > Backup & transfer. Select Download 4K

You can even enable it on non-X consoles so that you can transfer it (external HDD or Network Transfer) to an X.

Yeah that's not on the X, thought it would do that automatically since it is the X. Had it set on my Xbox one

Yes it does.....if you want super sampling which is the #1 most that have a 1080p would get it means the 4K enhancements which are all part of the patch...There is no such thing as 4k textures...It is a marketing term...it is higher rez textures...those come with the patches and downsamples to 1080p tv....highly doubt people bought the X with the intention of playing all games without enhancements (4k textures) included which not all games have

The option on the S means that when the patch is deployed the system knows that you are on a basic xbox one and the user can bypass that enhamcent which is only for X users and not fill up the storage with unwanted gigs

I think you're seriously underestimating the number of people who bought this and don't have a 4K tv yet. There's probably a decent amount if the Pro was any indicator. I was one of them, I bought a Pro and then scored my 4K tv about 3 months later. Many others do the same.

You can do that trick to see if it's enhanced, i think it's LB/RB and the button with the lines on it or something.

I fully get that and I never once thought that 1080p owners did not buy this console...But you are not getting what I am saying though.

If you bought the PRO it was because it offered benefits like super sampling and better frame rates but the biggest factor for most is that games would look better on their 1080p tvs.

It applies as well to the X. The patches that the PRO got is the same as the X except a few notches higher with the higher resolution and in some games better texture quality.

All that translates to a better image on 1080p tv's

If you do not download the patches for the PRO or the X as a 1080p owner than why did you get the console? Makes zero sense as it would yield the same result as the base console...

I think you are under this assumption that enhancemed on the X means better resolution and that there is a seperate download for 4K assets...That is not the case

A much wider color gamut which is needed for a great HDR picture.

The Samsung KS8000 doesn’t downgrade the picture quality as per Samsung. You don’t need the extra processing when you have a native 4k image. Plus, over 100ms input isn’t something you want for gaming.

Just ordered a Elite controller.
Also Madden is very impressive. I still lost. Lol. The X made me look at my tv a different way. I didnt think it would look that good.

Ok Assets Installed Xbox-Durango, Xbox Scorpio so I'm good, doesn't matter if it's showing in enhanced to me as long as it is enhanced.

Edit: Ok this is weird, I have 6 games showing as enhanced. NBA 2k18 is in that list and shows Xbox-Durango;Xbox Durango-Only;X

Injustice, Halo 5, Titanfall 2 and Killer Instinct all show the same thing

Hitman shows Xbox-Durango;Xbox-Durango-Only...no X after it, so does this mean that COD isn't enhanced or it is just a different name by it?
