Last time I reorganized my TV stand, I never got around to plugging the switch in. It's sitting there, but not connected to anything. I never told my wife, so I'm waiting to see how long it will be before she notices. It's about 2 months so far.
She played it a ton at first, completing BotW. But it's pretty much just that, a BotW machine. I play mostly sports games, so I just mostly stick my XB1X. Will probably play some of The Show sooner or later, but Madden and Live will probably interrupt that. My wife went from BotW to beating HZD on the PS4 and then Assassin's Creed: Origins on the XB1X.
Right now, I would sell both my PS4 and Switch. I don't think either are used enough to be worth it. And my wife just discovered the XB1 Gamepass, and is now find stuff to play there. I'm sure the new Tomb Raider will catch her when it comes out.
I'm looking forward to being a one console home again, to be honest. I hate the look of multiple consoles in a front room. I love everything about the XB1X, and I have way more to play on it than I have time. We only had Nintendo consoles for Zelda, basically. We bought the Gamecube for Wind Waker, and my daughter is a massive Zelda fan. But she no longer lives at home and will be graduating college next May. She can buy whatever console she wants.
I finally bought a PS4 so I could play The Show, and I can't say I've spent enough time with it to say it has been worth the money. I don't care for the dashboard, I hate the controller, and its big set piece games would be better TV shows or films than games, in my opinion. I've already spent more time with Madden 19 than I think I spent on all of the last two versions of The Show.
The only upcoming PS4 game I am considering is Spiderman, and I have a bad, bad feeling about how it will turn out. It seems like a cheap and lesser version of the Arkham games. It looks like a better idea than what they actually produced. Might be a total blast, too. We'll see.
But seriously, between every other sports game being equal or better, XBL being far more reliable and robust, exclusives like Halo, Forza, and Gears that I do love, the XB1X is really all I need. But for now, my wife enjoyed her time with HZD so much that she wants to pay another PS4 exclusive, but is kind of bouncing off Uncharted 4.
But Gamepass? I came home the other day to her playing Viva Piñata again. Seriously, it's a fantastic addition. So many great old games, and so many current games make it one of the best instant library features I've ever seen in gaming.
