Isn't this technically the same thing as what it already is? Gold is $60 a year right? If so, that's $5 a month. Game Pass is $120 a year which is $10 a month. Where's the deal?
The only major difference is that you don't have to commit long term and can just do a month here and there for both services. Otherwise, it's still the same price and if anything, is more money because you can always get Gold for $40 a year and Game Pass is always on sale for $30 for six months.
Money wise, it's the same amount just applied differently.
