One of the highlights for the PS4 is party chat. That's not taking a swipe but is an example of how I feel they are a bit behind. Everything they are offering is going to be done via the One or already is being done via the 360.
Except for, you know, how PSN is much better with digital games actually being available for download/purchase on day of release and how Microsoft has resisted that for the longest time, even up to today. Yeah, I'm sure that Sony's the only one that's copying from the other.

Which has what to do with what he said? Both consoles will have all titles available digitally day 1. That leaves the differentiators.

Sony being "behind" for not having party chat on the PS3 is poor reasoning considering Microsoft is also behind in other important aspects as well this gen, for example digital downloads.

But like you said, it will be a non issue for both systems come release, since the PS4 and Vita have party chat and the Xbox One will have day one digital releases. They "copied" great features from each other, which only benefits us gamers in the end.

Did anyone else see the report that this generation headsets are going to work with the Xbox One? Did I just imagine that? I'm positive I read that somewhere this morning, but I've not really gone back looking for it. Thought I would come here and see what people were saying, but it's not been mentioned.

Nope that is actually confirmed. You will just need to purchase an adapter.

From what I can read from people who seem to know. The technology used to mimic the X1 here was a little generous and the tech behind the ps4 was unkind. Still a cool comparison though. I cant see a diff personally.

Neither of those examples are examples of copying. Party chat and day of releases are a given at this time. Maybe an example of MS copying is inclusion of the blu-ray player but that is almost a given too. Sony making what looks like the kinect's little brother is maybe a case of copying.

My point is that when I look at both systems I don't see the PS4 doing anything that is that substantial, but that only applies to me. It's not a blanket statement that the PS4 is not appealing to some. For me, I look forward to what is next for the Xbox because they have a solid history of building on what they have implemented through time.

This is the biggest thing for me. Microsoft has shown that they implement new ideas while continuing to improve things over time. They are always updating the interface and other aspects of the console to make it better. I mean I'm pretty sure I'll be able to control my tv guide through my iPads Smartglass App. Stuff like that is what I'm excited for.

Just think about it for a second. When the 360 was released Netflix was in it's infancy and HBO was strictly something you watched on cable. Over the years the technology improved and Microsoft adapted the Xbox to implement Netflix and HBO Go seamlessly. Meanwhile if you wanted to watch Netflix on PS3 you needed have the disc in initially.

Theres going to be some future technology thats not standard right now that might be five years. In my opinion the One will be in a better position to handle new things like that down the line. Thats a major thing for me. Microsoft has proven to me that they indeed are trying to future proof the One.
