No, you hit a bug where "Xbox On" happens during a silent update. Your devices got turned on but not off. It doesn't happen to everyone, but we've been working to figure out why it's happening for some users.

Admit it....you guys just like freaking people out!

Well not broken but backwards. Anybody who has Madden 25 on xb1 notices that if you put Limited RGB on the xb1 and HDMI Black Level LOW on a samsung hdtv that the dashboard would be up to code but in madden game the black crush was hideous.

So if you change the HDTV HDMI Black level from low to Normal it will make the xb1 dashboard washed out and grey but the game Madden 25 look perfect with correct gama levels and no black crush.

They need to fix this....

This is one thing that bothers me a lot. I get black crush on my Xbox one and it's annoying because I have my tv perfectly calibrated and don't want to mess with settings. EVERYTHING else looks great besides the Xbox. I run all my stuff through my receiver and this is very annoying. I also noticed the black crush a lot on the one the past 2 days since I joined the EA access and finally played madden on the Xbox one since I had it on the ps4 before.

I have my Samsung professionally calibrated but for movies and sports. I use game mode due to input lag for gaming so I run xb1 to denon receiver on hdmi 1 in game mode and hdmi 2 is for my fios box and i connect the audio for tv via optical. So I just switch hdmi with one button.

I calibrated my game mode and it looks awesome on ps4 and xb1 but i think the issue is that devs for certain games have not figured out the issue with the gamma

In games like BF4 there is no crushed blacks with my test pattern and neither does fifa 14 but madden and killer instinct are bad

Well the good thing is at least they acknowledged it and hopefully come up with a fix soon. I kinda noticed it on FIFA too, but mainly on the home screen. I don't use game mode on my panasonic plasma since it already has very low input lag without it.

went to bed last night with my xbox/tv/soundbar all off. Woke up this morning and they were all on. That was quite strange.

Maybe I said something that sounded like xboix on in my sleep? shrug.

Well, I can never even get mine to turn on by saying 'Xbox On'. When I turn it on the voice commands work, but it won't turn on at all with voice.

Xbox On uses just the kinect in low power mode, so the processing isn't as high. Studbucket has posted some tips that work. I've also seen people mention to turn the volume really high when calibrating the Kinect. Not sure if that helps the Xbox On or not though.

Mine works intermittently. Sometimes it'll hear me perfectly on first or 2nd try, other times my wife laughs at me while I say "Xbox On" 20 times. She says our kid's first word will be Xbox lol.

I probably have a problem with mine, while dealing with my 4 month old that wouldn't go to sleep I came back down to the living room multiple times. Twice the Xbox was updating, and twice it booted and still wasn't on the August update. Will have to hold-button reboot tonight and see if it grabs the update overnight.

I was looking to move in on an xb1 this week, but I may just preorder the madden bundle and wait. Still debating on Kinect, but I see them on Ebay for a reasonable price. I can always pick one up later. Haven't been inot MAdden in a while. Did not care for last years on PS4. But after watching the HOF game last night, I am hyped for football.
