Really the most painful part might not be any missing channels, but just being able to pause and rewind at any time. That's such an automatic and convenient thing after having a DVR for more than a decade.

I'm not sure about the single stream limit either... but then again we've got 2 TVs in the house and one hasn't been turned on in 4+ months.

The DVR aspect and all that concerns me too...plus needing antenna and box for local channels. You lose the ease of use when it's going to the TV app for local, the Sling App for some channels, other apps for different channels, etc. Not easy to just surf tv.

That's the key thing about cutting the cord my friends that have done it tell me. Stop surfing. Watch what you want to watch and when you want to watch it. Not sure I can do that after 30 years of surfing.

True, but sometimes i like to watch random shows and not something I want to actually watch and pay attention to....I'll be on my phone or doing something else...nice to be able to pick that type of thing.

I definitely cannot wait to try out the Dish Sling. I cut cable when I moved other than the internet and am saving 120 bucks, but I was like man I gotta have my football when the season starts up again. If this can get me what I need I don't mind shelling out 20 a month for it.

Wow completely different. The Saturn didn't have EA support and had other reasons why it failed. The Xbox thread has become the sales topic now. Apparently the Xbox one is doing really bad just like the sega Saturn did and is on the same path lol..

Not completely different, while the Xbox One isn't headed to the same fate as the Saturn the fact remains that people who are interested in the industry, such as ppl here on OS, still follow and discuss sales numbers because sales determine issues such as I mentioned (sales, bundling, forward strategy ie dumping Kinect etc.)

My point wasn't that the Xbox One was screwed or anything but that people discuss sales numbers for various reasons, not just for reasons involving bragging rights or which console is "superior"..

Obviously sales matter to the company selling the things. That's a given. I don't understand why the consumer cares if a console they own is selling better or worse than the other though. Unless like I said the console is not selling at all. Which is not the case.

Consumers care because sales affect what they are offered..

I acknowledge a situation like that is different right in the post you quoted.

And I acknowledged above why they are similar even if for different reasons...

That's a nice pivot, I would have gone with this the first time but instead you went with the Sega Saturn shot instead with completely different connotations.

The consoles are selling well, competition benefiting us all.

That's my point, competition is what people are discussing in relation to how it affects their future purchases. Not everyone brings up sales just to taunt "the other side" which is what saying "why do sales even matter?" is implying.

I do find that sales tend to matter a lot less though when you support the item that's not selling as well as the other guy though, lol go figure..

It's all about the narrative for some folks. If anyone is enjoying the XB1 too much, you can be sure a thread pooper will come along to educate us about how far behind the console is, then will pretend that it actually matters by comparing it to irrelevant events.

Why? The narrative is really important to some folks.

I haven't had cable TV in years. My only option is comcast, and they are pure rapage.

My setup is as follows:

ClearStream Micron XG -> HomeWorx PVR -> TV OTA Input / Xbox One -> HDMI 1

This allows me to record an item on the PVR, and if I want to watch something else, I can switch to the Antenna input and watch it, as the PVR has a passive throughput of the signal.

I have NFL network and ESPN on my xbox, and anything from cable, I'll watch it online.

I agree.. I'd still like to know how sales affect us when both consoles are selling well? So we now buy games or consoles depending on which console is selling more than the other one. Why can't we just enjoy these consoles because we're gamers, adults and allow people to enjoy what they want..

Wasn't you the one in the playstation forums questioning another member who owned both consoles, but prefers the Xbox and you seeming confused because of it . And, weren't you the one asking him why does he prefer to play on the inferior console where the games look uglier? At the end of the day people are going to like one console over the other and that's fine, but in the end, we should hope that both consoles do well so they can keep pushing each other to innovate.

Is there a better way to take snapshots and better quality videos on the Xbox One? When I use upload studio or watch the replay THe quality is awful.

So the $50 price cut because of the lower than ps4 sales didn't affect consumers? Or how about the unbundling of the Kinect? I suppose that didn't affect consumers either?

Get real man, any knowledgeable consumer should most definitely be aware of sales in the industry.

I was the one inquiring as to why people make choices yes. Don't try to paint me as some fanboy, I own two Xbox Ones and have been an Xbox Live member since it was beta.

As for reasons why people should be aware of sales, I've given them multiple times and they've been ignored. There is more to sales and the discussion than just someone wanting to gloat about one system is better than the other.

The very fact some of you are so sensitive to, and don't want to discuss sales though speaks volumes I think about who has some sort of sensitivity about their system preference. Grow a bit thicker skin I'd recommend
