I would stay away from that controller.

I bought it after reading reviews that the directional pad needs extra presses to register a direction.

I figured the people complaining just had a bad controller but it happened to me as well.

      The bumpers are definately fixed.

I will wait until July for the standard black new version

Will be best controller bar none

Worldwide launch expected in all major markets in October and others to follow soon after

9 foot (2.8 metres) braided nylon USB cord will ship with the controller
Remapping is done at controller level

Adjustable thumb stick sensitivity - shape movement from quick to slow based on rotation as well as independent sensitivity setting for x and y axis

Ability to set min-max for buttons

Preset profiles for FPS, racing, fighting etc. Specific title presets to follow later

255 savable profiles can be stored within the app

Ability to scale the dead-zone on trigger pulls

Profiles will be saved in the cloud once Windows 10 releases, on console only until then

App won't work on Windows phones but will work on tablets

Controller will work on Windows 7/8 machines but app won't

MS working with 3rd party to release themed paddles and thumb sticks

Binding button also acts to disable the paddles with a double tap and vice versa

3.5mm headphone jack will allow sidetone (also available on the new standard XB1 controller), adjustable on the console
I hope that means I can use the legacy control stick setting on FPS games that don't have it. That alone would make this controller worth the money for me.

Xbox came in today. I used to have a GT for 360, but the account was screwed up after not using it for years, so I went fresh. Feel free to add me as a friend. GT-Cabke

I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times but since I'm new to the system I have to ask. Power save mode or instant on?

It depends on what you like.

                    Instant On benefits

Resume games from the time you paused it

                    Firmware updates installed automatically

                    Turns on within seconds

                    Power Save Mode

                    Saves a bit of energy

A negative is it takes a bit longer to boot up and updates must be done manually.

So no harm in always keeping it set to instant on and the power brick always being on I assume. I know the console was designed for instant on but I'm still in that new console paranoia stage lol.

                        I was too.

At the beginning I was strictly full power off for both consoles, now I use rest mode (ps4) and instant on (one) exclusively. They are great features IMO but really you will be fine either way my man

I have used instant on since day 1 and have zero issues.

Only time it's bugged me is when a game or app freezes. Turning the console off doesn't actually fix anything.

I'm probably missing a way to do a hard reset though.

Just hold the power button down until it hard resets.
