    Re: Xbox One

The offset sticks make a huge difference when perception of movement and aiming come to mind. It makes it feel different

The rumbles are not bad and add to the game...You want to slash human flesh on the Ryse game and not feel it? Not going to happen as it is suppose to make you feel like you slicing flesh

The light bar is a joke and a gimmick that has backfired on sony because the battery life is terrible...And connecting to a usb makes it not wireless which is the point of the controller.

The Elite Controller is going to make the difference between an xbox one and ps4 controller that much bigger.

    NO CONTEST...IMO of course

I have never had a problem with any controller so maybe, it's not the controller or the game, maybe it's the player.

I disagree in regards to the vibration 100% and going back to the N64 controller with the rumble pak, I have always hated the vibration. Don't see how a vibrating controller would make me feel the slashing of human flesh....after all, it's hmmm, just a game and entertainment. Not meant to be taken seriously.

The light bar is bad and like the vibration, should have an on/off option. Agree with the battery life part but at the same time, I use the USB cable simply because I prefer wired controllers regardless of the console.

I think that both controllers are a 9/10 in my opinion. As for the "elite" controller, at $150, it's most likely going to be anything but "elite".

I enjoy my rumbling controllers except for games where the rumble can get stuck on till it loads something new.

From what I've read on AVS forums the new controller also has better range and no disconnection issues that some experience when using Astros or other headsets. I'm going to pick one tomorrow.

Honestly, the DS4 is my favorite controller ever. I just think it feels perfect in my hands.

I love using both however can't go wrong either way.

I still use my 360 controller on my PC lol

The sticks on the One controller are in a different league than the DS4 sticks, tho.

I also own both consoles and to me the xbox controller is way better than the DS4. The DS4s dies too fast and the sticks peel right away. Also, the xbox sticks being offset feels more natural and the triggers have more range than the DS4 which allows for more precise commands. For shooters and racing games it's no comparison.

The light bar is cool in regards that it's different colors are based on your health in games but yes, there should be an option to turn it off. As for battery life, neither affect me as I always have the USB cable connected. The analogs are placed differently but I don't see how either is a problem.

Both controllers are good but I prefer the PS4 controller because if I have to deal with the constant vibration or the light bar, I rather deal with the light bar as it doesn't prevent me from playing games. The vibration did.

And if any game has "control" problems, it's not the controller, it's the game itself.
If you're controller was vibrating constantly than something was wrong with it or you're over exaggerating. To me having vibration is a must. I feel like I can't play without it. When my battery starts dying and vibration goes away I feel like something is missing. While playing shooters and Forza I can't play without vibration. It just feels like it's well implemented in those games.

Never had a problem with the analog sticks rubber peeling off and can't comment on the DS4 controller's battery dying out because I always have the USB cable connected. The Xbox One controller should be better for shooters....after all, Xbox has only been known as the shooter box for about 15 years. I played Far Cry 4 on PS4 which is a FPS and I didn't have any problems with the controller at all. I think that it simply comes down to what you're used to and most comfortable with.

Play Ryse. If the vibration stopped for a minute, it was a long time. The inability to turn off the vibration is horrible especially since 360 had the option. The vibration is what caused me to lose interest in playing Ryse and eventually, sell the console because if other games don't have the option to turn it off, there's no way im buying it so I figure why bother keeping it? In the end, im one of the few that hates the controller vibrating.

The rubbers peeling off is a known thing just look it up. It happened to both of mine. The battery life is terrible on the DS4 and that's undeniable. Just because you play wired doesn't mean there isn't a problem. I usually get around 3 hours per charge on my DS4s. Also, let me get this straight, you got rid of your Xbox because of Ryse that's a terrible game, and because of vibration while playing it? That makes no sense. Try playing forza with the Xbox controller and come back and tell me vibration doesn't enhance the experience. A controller vibrating should be the last reason any person should get rid of a console. I never heard anyone else complain about this in any of the forums I go to. The way you speak about the ps4 makes a person wonder if vibration for a game that wasn't good the real reason you got rid of it.

I know about the rubber peeling off but that was on launch consoles which let's be honest, they all have problems at launch. If it's still happening to you, I would say that's more bad luck than anything else. The battery life is important, never said it wasn't but because I keep the USB cable connected, it simply doesn't affect me.

It wasn't the main reason, just the start of several. First, it was the user interface which is worse than PS4, second, it was the vibration and not being able to turn the damn thing off, third, it was the fact that Quantum Break was delayed to 2016, fourth, it was the fact that I decided against buying Ori and State of Decay and fifth, a co-worker offered to buy it off of me and since I was already turned off for various reasons, I sold it. Only lost $35 or so which was actually credit and can be looked at just losing the sales tax. No biggie.

Not being able to turn off the vibration ruined the game for me which I was enjoying and made it up to act III but I simply had enough and once I took into consideration all the other factors, my mind was made up.

You and many others enjoy the vibration and wireless controllers where as I don't and considering that the option is existed on 360, let's be honest, anyone would naturally assumed that the option would exist on Xbox One. Over a year and a half later, it still doesn't have the option.

Sad part is that if I was able to turn off the vibration, I probably would have kept the console but for me, it was a horrible impression and the funny part is that I was actually enjoying the game but couldn't play for long periods which is a turn off for me if im enjoying the game. I can literally play The Witcher 3 for 15 hours in a day which I have done a few times since the 1.04 patch. If im enjoying the game regardless of the console it's on, I will most likely keep it and look forward to future games.

Another factor was the simple fact of what happens if another game I want to play or just buy like Rise of the Tomb Raider doesn't give me the option to turn off the vibration? In the end, im only losing the sales tax amount which was credit, there's no games for me until Rise of the Tomb Raider and I don't use the consoles for anything else but games so I figure, sell it off and wait until 2016 and see how the console progresses and if by that time, they announce a slim model/reduce the price/add the on/off option for the controller vibration, etc.

Basically, I made the same decision that those who pick Xbox One over PS4. Looked at everything overall and while nothing to most, something that is important to me like being able to turn off the vibration so I can actually enjoy the game that im playing without my hands shaking as if I have arthritis was simply what put it over the top because if I can't play the game(s) that I want to play, what's the point in keeping the console? And my co-worker is an Xbox fan so he got a good deal, I pretty much evened out and everyone wins.

I think it's fair for people that own both consoles to make a comparison on something like controllers for both consoles to weigh the pros and cons, but I do agree this back and forth about what's better or not does get annoying. For some reason this thread always becomes a comparison thread. It's whatever. I enjoy them both..
