Re: Xbox One
Good luck too all you guys for the one. Hopefully your launch is clean and all your consoles are up to par. Happy gaming fellas. I know you are excited as I was last week for my ps4. Wanting to hear impressions from you guys to see if this is worth a purchase at some point next year.PSN:LeftCoastGamer

Re: Xbox One
Alright I'm officially out for tonight. My reality is now I won't get my console until Saturday as I have errands to run after work and tickets to Coaches V Cancer Classic tomorrow night @ the Barclay's Center.
Hoping those going out tonight have a safe night out there. I'll be checking impressions in the morning

Re: Xbox One
I'm tempering expectations on being able to actually play this thing tonight. That 1GB patch is going to take forever to download, I'm afraid.Comment

Re: Xbox One
MS took the page down, basically said call customer support if you have problems downloading the update. I won't be able to pick mine up until Friday afternoon so I'm hoping the servers won't be overloaded at that point.Comment

Re: Xbox One
They've since removed it and have said that it was never meant to be installed offline. Connection to xbox live is still required to install the patch.
Instructions say that you shouldn't connect the power supply to a surge protector/power strip and that it should be connected directly to the wall outlet, although I'm not sure why either.
I hope so as I now live upstate...and I lose power frequently during storms and have a whole house standby generator that automatically kicks in.
I'm not sure how much of an issue it truly is....but I haven't plugged any electronic equipment directly into a wall outlet in years.

Re: Xbox One
^it was the same recommendation for the 360 as well. Doesn't everyone remember when Microsoft initially blamed the RROD on people plugging their system into a surge protector?“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Xbox One
Are they saying that you cannot use one for XOne?
Perhaps that's why I lost two 360's to RROD.

Re: Xbox One
Yep so when Amazon re opened pre orders yesterday more pre orders went through than was available. so they are emailing people to let them know, and to make up for it they are taking $50 off the order. They said I may experience a 1-3 day shipping delay but mine says "shipping now" so IDK. They are just shipping those people standard editions. I can live with that. I have 1 day shipping and its still estimated to arrive tomorrow.Last edited by m1ke_nyc; 11-21-2013, 10:26 PM.It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Is it possible that it has it's own built in surge protector?

Re: Xbox One
Common sense is that you don't plug powerful equipment into surge protectors. That is a given.
