that would be nice. though I haven't got any emails from MS yet. Been a member since the first wave of Xbox Live Beta were sent out. though admittingly, haven't been around Live all that much the last few years. My live account is still active though, and has been since Beta. I don't have a "high" gamerscore, as I don't really care about that.

Yeah, been watching email and real mail for a check from EA litigation and Xbox goodies (I got a Audi + livery in Forza on 11/2 via email) and only luck so far has been my HEX alpha invite.

I doubt it. I have a friend that got the KI gift. He has nothing to do with selling video games, but does have a 145K+ gamerscore.

lol a $60 downloadable gift is a LOT different than a what, $900 gift...by the way, managers get the console, a year of live, and four games...just saying.

Eurogamer: Why Zoo Tycoon's an unlikely highlight of the Xbox One launch line-up

Do you remember that moment around eight years ago when you'd realised the next-generation had arrived? Perhaps it was peeking out the side-window of a Ferrari Enzo in Project Gotham Racing 3 and seeing the city pass by in a slick blur of motion. Maybe you had to wait a little longer to see the rain streaming down Marcus Fenix's impossible shoulders before he slammed them into a hunk of black concrete.

At Microsoft's pre-launch Xbox One event in a dreary London, everyone's shuffling from demo pod to demo pod trying to find that moment again. They're looking for it within the sumptuous battlegrounds of Ryse, in the thunder, speed and precision of Forza Motorsport 5 or amidst the darkly comic chaos of Dead Rising 3. Upstairs, at a quieter booth, I think I've found what does it for me, though: winking at my newly adopted baby chimpanzee in Frontier's Zoo Tycoon, I'm amazed and delighted when he immediately winks back.
Shacknews - Zoo Tycoon preview: playing with animals

New objectives will continue to pour in, even after you've completed all the main objectives of a stage. This gives builders a never-ending amount of things to do, especially if you feel particularly connected to a zoo that you've created. Expanding zoos is incredibly easy: you simply drop new buildings wherever there's room. The game will then automatically generate all the roads that connect the new facility. The amount of real estate you have is extraordinary, meaning the truly dedicated can make a Megazoo that matches the size of a city.
With its best-of-both-worlds approach, Zoo Tycoon is easily one of my most-anticipated Xbox One launch games. With a launch lineup that largely consists of stabbing men in the neck or shooting them in the face, Zoo Tycoon is a fresh family-friendly addition to the console that offers some of the best Kinect functionality at launch. I can't wait to play more.
Polygon: Zoo Tycoon will let you help real-life animals

In Zoo Tycoon, players run a virtual zoo of their making. As they become more successful — a feat accomplished in part by raising happy animals — players will have the chance to release those animals into the wild. According to Neumann, achieving this ultimate goal will have a real-world impact. Microsoft Studios will choose a cause or zoo, and then rally players together by challenging them to release specific animals.

When enough of the chosen animal is released, Microsoft donates money to a related charity. The company has a certain percentage of its profits set aside for just such an occasion. Neumann told us the company partnered with National Geographic and several conservation efforts to help fight animal-related causes worldwide.
In the game's full sim mode, neglecting animals also comes with negative side-effects. In the most extreme case, in-game organizations will actually remove unhappy animals by the chopper-full.

The Xbox devision is losing 2 billion dollars a year. I really hope Microsoft can turn this around. As gamers we always need competition.

I'm sure if MS decided to sale. I'm sure there is some company or person out there willing to buy them out. That would make the gaming community very happy I'm sure. But I just don't see it happening anytime soon. MS has to much money and time invested into this right now. I'm sure 2 billion a year to MS is chump change them. Who is to say. But Sony ain't no better neither. They are still trying to get out the hole they are in for losing so much money in the ps3 market this past gen. So neither company is doing great right now in the console war when it comes to profits.

                                Re: Xbox One

That's hard to believe TBH, and it says suggested, rather than outright saying (edit, per article below this is an analyst estimate). Only way I think the Xbox division is 'losing $2b/year' would be if it was writing down all the Azure expansion against that division as well as other R&D.

I don't think they'd 'sell' either, they'd spin them off into their own company.

Just seems strange, this isn't an obvious coverup like Sony hiding Vita sales by clumping it in with PSP, but I don't understand why this wouldn't already be a known thing. This includes losses on Windows Phone which were supposed to be signfiicant, so I wonder what MS is spending $2b on yet only $500m on Windows Phone.

A slightly more informative version of that article is here: http://www.businessinsider.com/micro...s-2013-11?op=1

                                re: Legend Killer

I've seen some great posts on other forums debating the profitability of the Cell and PS3 that's made me question what I really knew about it. Basically all the losses were tagged on the PS3 and none of the profits, and that although it was generally a failing proposition (never became the next big thing they hoped it would be) that it wasn't the unmitigated disaster the PS3 bottom line figures would have us believe. Either way both situations are a reminder that we aren't seeing everything. These are large corporations and a single division or $ figure are far from the whole picture.
