Re: Xbox One
This promo they are doing right now, it's insulting. I know I'm going to come off greedy or a spoiled brat here, but it's a giant middle finger to loyal fanbase. I have 11 plus years of uninterrupted Xbox Live service, 123,000 achievement points and I didn't get squat. Not a free digital game (which honestly, everyone with 3-4 years plus should have gotten) and certainly not a free Xbox One.
I've been leaning the other way for a long time, and this pushed me over the edge. I'm done with the Xbox brand. I was annoyed at the 10 year celebration where I didn't get squat either, now this. Seriously, not even a DLC car for Forza 5 like many others got.
I'm done Microsoft, thanks for pushing me the right way and showing me where I'll be doing my gaming in the next generation.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
Yeah that is really awesome, I love that it can gauge how hard you're pushing yourself that's a great thing because I know with those home workouts in the past I'll do them for a while then get tired of them or slack a little, turning it into a way to actually compete against your past results and others is a nice additional motivator.
I had no idea that was going to be free for the first year but I agree MS should really be pushing this because it's awesome.Favorite Teams:

Re: Xbox One
CVG - The highs and lows of the Xbox One launch line-up
- Chris's Most Surprising Game: Ryse
After getting the chance to properly sit down with the near-final version for an hour or so, I came away pleasantly surprised. Ryse may not boast the sort of depth of content that's going to give Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag any sleepless nights, but it's clearly a solid adventure that I look forward to playing in full.
Granted, I still had some niggles - with only the X button used for attacks the combat seems a little basic, and the various gruesome death blows, while glorious, seem like they're executed (ahem) randomly - but given that I haven't played through the whole thing yet, for all I know these issues will resolve themselves as experience points build.
- Tamoor's Most Surprising Game: Killer Instinct
Most fighting game players love to take hold of gameplay systems, explore them, see how far they can be pushed. The more systems the better, and between Killer Instinct's multi-tiered combo system, breaker variations, shadow moves and over-the-top finishers, there's plenty to sink teeth into.
Crucially though, Killer Instinct looks and feels great to play. Bouts are blisteringly paced and are a visual spectacle. Fireballs have never looked so good.
As a free-to-play game, there's really nothing to lose in checking this out. But based on what I've played so far, I feel like it might have some staying power.- Chris's Launch Concern: Call of Duty Ghosts
It was clear a while ago that it wasn't going to look quite as impressive as Battlefield 4 does on next-gen systems, but I struggled to see a noticeable difference between the Xbox One version of Ghosts and the Xbox 360 version.
- Tamoor's Launch Concern: Kinect Sports Rivals
(Note: Kinect Sports Rivals will be released in 2014, but a free trial will be available this year. Microsoft had a playable build of the game at the Xbox One hands-on event)
Kinect Sports Rivals doesn't do much for me. Personally, I think there's very little gameplay content to get excited about and at the same time it's not exactly a great showcase of what the new Kinect is capable of.
The camera's amazing ability to detect points of articulation, your skeletal frame and your expressions all translate to mundane in-game activities.
I'm very weary of games that exist purely for the sake of novelty, and that's just what Kinect Sports Rivals feels like to me.- Chris's Kinect Highlight: Kinect Sports Rivals
I was impressed with two things - firstly, the accuracy is greatly improved. I was wearing a black t-shirt in a dark room with daft strobe lights shining all over the place and it still picked up my movements perfectly. My gestures also didn't need to be so exaggerated this time - I only needed to make subtle movements and they were picked up.
Secondly, I could stand much closer to Kinect. At one point I must have only been a couple of feet in front of it and it was still working like a charm. My living room is fairly small so I used to keep hitting my feet against my couch behind me when I played before. There's no way I'll have the same problem this time.
- Tamoor's Kinect Highlight: D4
(Note: D4 isn't a launch title)
What sets D4 apart from Kinect Sports Rivals is that your mundane gestures are used for the most outlandish things in the most bizzarre situations.
For those not in the know D4, or Dark Dreams Don't Die, is an episodic point-and-click adventure game from Hidetaka 'Swery' Suehiro, creator of acclaimed survival horror Deadly Premonition.
To draw comparisons, D4 has a lot in common with TellTale's Walking Dead series, except with all the quirky characters and utterly bizarre goings on of Deadly Premonition.- Chris's Best Bet For Launch - Forza 5
Forza Motorsport 5 just looks tremendous and has the potential to last months. All the nonsense about Xbox One's 'resolutiongate' goes out the window as soon as you play with Forza's in-car view. It's far and away the most realistic racing game I've ever played on a console and it effortlessly chucks 60 frames a second at you.
- Tamoor's Best Bet For Launch - Dead Rising 3
On top of that, Dead Rising 3 is as goofy as ever. The world is definitely darker and grittier, but the things you can do in it are still odd and quirky. Together, it creates a weird contrast. If you think of the first two Dead Rising games as a parody of the zombie genre, Dead Rising 3 is more of a dark comedy.
In terms of a value proposition, Dead Rising 3 definitely looks like it has the most to offer on Xbox One at launch. The map is huge and, judging from the amount of icons I saw on-screen, there's a lot to do within it. I've got fond memories of spending months playing Dead Rising when I got my Xbox 360, I reckon I'll be doing the same with DR3.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment
