    Re: Xbox One

Can you get mic monitoring in an xbox one gold headset without using the chat adapter?

If I go straight into the 3.5mm jack I can't hear myself in the headset when chatting online.

Same thing with my polk striker headset. I can hear myself talk with the adapter but can't when plugging straight into the 3.5mm jack.

Ok even more bizarre. If I cup my hand over the mic and speak just a bit louder than normal I can hear myself in the headset through the 3.5 jack.

    Same thing on both headsets.

Its like my mic volume is not sensitive enough

This is just lame. Both headsets sound "alive" with the game music and sounds with the chat adapter and I can hear myself talk in the headset. I can even hear the sounds when I open a game case.

With it in the 3.5 jack I could bang pots and pans right in front of the mic and not hear it in the headset.

Just an FYI, if your Walmart is open 24 hours, the last few years, they change the video game and movie prices to the Black Friday prices early on Thursday morning, I think it's usually around 3AM. I've been able to go on Thanksgiving around 8 or 9 in the morning and get everything I need without any crowd.

        I'll check it out then

        Wouldn't they say something though?

I've done it the last few years with no problem. You get the items from regular stock, you can't take them from the special displays they have wrapped up.

I'm gonna give it a shot for sure then [emoji1303]

I would just think they would say hey it's not time yet for that price then change it back while you check out.

But that's what I was saying earlier. Some people seem to think that the only games that ring up at that price are the ones they have in those displays ..... When in reality even the games in the regular section ring up for that cheap price. I've done it a few times and it works

This season of Hitman, or whatever the proper way to refer to it as, is so fun. That game deserves all the love it can get.

I couldn't resist at 30 bucks digital. Disc version won't be that price for at least 6+ months.

Plus the nature of it where each time can be different (especially if you're doing the online targets or whatever) it's just fun. The control and feel of the game is perfect. They recovered from the last Hitman IMO. That had fun story but was too on rails.

I will probably grab that for 30.

Adding games to their vault six months after release when sales are pretty much done anyway isn't exactly giving you something. Giving you the game for half price at launch would be a deal. 10 hour demo isn't.

Oh, it damn well is giving me something. It's giving me a game. That I'm not paying full price for, whether I would have bought it or not.

Fifa... NFS... UFC... great examples for me. I pay my $20 something to EA for EA Access, I get a discount for any EA games I buy digital. That eats into that subscription fee. Then, when I download vault games I get them... FREE. Theyre mine. I'd never buy Fifa, or NFS, or UFC or any battlefield at full price. Just... not my games. However, when they hit the vault, you're damn right I download them and play them constantly. So, sure, EA isn't getting the sale from me at full price, and they're not really getting a sale from me at all. However, they are getting $24 or whatever it is a year from me, and I get typically 3-4 games a year out of the deal. At the time they hit the vault to buy it new, it might be $30. So, guess what... I save. I win in that situation. Then, the icing on the cake for me... when a game like Madden, or NHL that I may have bought the disc version for hits the fault, I trade in my copy, get $20 or so for it, and I keep the rights to play the game for FREE now through Access. And, I get to try all those games I may not buy for 10 hours for free to see if it's something I want to buy or not.

So, it more than pays for itself. It's definitely me, getting something.

And, are you seriously trying to make the point we're getting nothing for free... I mean, of course we aren't, we've all paid the fee. However, when I look at the vault games on my HD right now, that I play, that I didn't buy and take that number of games, and spread my EA Access fee over that number of games... again... I win. It may not be given to me for "free", but give your head a shake man... nothing is.

Very very well said. There is not a better value out there for the gamer than EA Access. If you were to not buy any other game and only play the games in the vault or play the ten hour trials offered, you'd have a great collection of replayable and multiplayer games with hundreds of hours of gameplay.

At $30 a year up here in Canada, that's absurd value.

I never said that EA Access isn't a great service. It is. If you're a fan of EA's games, then $30 a year is a steal. When Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 gets added to their vault eventually, the $30 a year is worth it right there but none of it is free as you get access to all of that as long as you're paying the subscription free. Great value it is but free it is not.

There is no such thing as free. Not from Sony or from MS but if anybody gave something close to free is MS because if they give a game you do not have to keep your GOLD status to keep the game like Sony

I pay for EA Acess for one thing and that is early access of 10 hours for a full game not demo FULL game before anyone else gets to play it that does not pay for the service

The games in the vault are just throw ins
