Microsoft has announced it will take the lid off Scorpio at its E3 conference on June 11, four years after the Xbox One got taken apart by Sony during E3 2013. Scorpio, in many ways, is Microsoft’s first real chance to clean up the Xbox One baggage the company has been dragging around for nearly four years.

Just read a quick summary but Phil had a interview/podcast with ign and it sounded like Scorpio would be pre E3 so that E3 could be about games.

I'm hoping for Scorpio to be announced before hand and see what they have in store for E3. Because he also talked about not announcing games to early.

Looking forward to Scorpio. Having opted out of the Playstation ecosystem this gen and Nintendo being a non-starter for a while in my house I'm getting antsy watching these different consoles (Pro, PSVR, Switch) launch and I'm not out buying the latest and greatest. I miss not just buying all of the things, but just don't have the time anymore.

I am looking forward to it as well. Have they released official specs of the CPU yet? That is my main question now that I know how bottlenecked these systems are by the crappy CPUs currently in them. Is Scorpio going to be an overhaul in that department or "tune up," like the Pro was?

Very interested in it, though not sure if/when i'd upgrade one xbox for it...

My longer term wishlist is a new 4k tv, Scorpio, and a Switch once there's games we'd play as a family. Scorpio isn't worth a lot until the TV happens, and both together will probably not be cheap

I know that's what I thought too. I ordered it Wednesday about this time and Dell said it'd be here by end of the day on Monday. My buddy who works there said that it would probably be Friday as they've really worked on getting their times down to 2 days if you order by noon and lo and behold.

Love the fact that this supports 5ghz wi-fi. I know it'd be fastest to hook up via direct ethernet but in my home office where I work I use wi-fi so I'm setting it up while I work and it's going much faster than using the regular wi-fi.

So much to setup and check out, but mostly I'm excited to play Forza with HDR!

Oh yeah, also excited about Halo Wars 2, I checked out the demo/beta and thought it was a lot of fun!

I need to try Halo Wars 2, just a bit jaded w/ RTS games, hasn't really been a good one since Company of Heroes 2 and that's 4-5 years old.

So I looked over and the Xbox One S was off, I forgot that it'd turn off automatically after an hour if you weren't using it...

Does the Xbox One S download and install things when it's off like the PS4?

I did go back in and change that setting, hate that it turned off like that...

Yeah it does. It has to be in instant on mode.

ok, good deal then, yeah I did have it in instant on mode, when i went thru the setup I remember selecting that. so i didn't lose any download time, that's cool, just wanted to make sure, i thought it did but couldn't remember.

I'm downloading the division with all DLC, quantum break, both forzas and some other stuff so it's gonna be awhile, LOL

So I need the Kinect Adapter to get the Kinect to work with the Xbox One S. There is an actual page on Microsofts site to temporarily get it for free. It costs $39.99 if you buy it.

Anyways, so I go to fill out that page and no matter what I do I can't get it to work. The page asks me to select my Xbox One S to request the device for. I click it, it asks me a couple of questions inc. the serial number and then it shows it, I highlight the Xbox One S and click next and it goes back to step 3 and asks me to select which Xbox One S I want to order it for. Rinse and repeat. Try different browser, different computer, same thing.

So I try a different way, I go to the Xbox One S warranty page and request service on my perfectly fine and nothing-wrong-with Xbox One S that is brand spanking new. I click on my registered Xbox One S that shows on the form. It asks for what am I requesting service? I say Kinect. It lists the Kinect Adapter and asks if mine is defective?

My eyes dart nervously around and I checkmark, defective, uh yeah, my invisible, non-existent adapter that I do not have is most certainly defective. Yep, completely does NOT work at all. It then says ok, would you like us to send you a new one? I click yes. That's a wonderful idea. A new one to replace the one I never have seen before would work wonderfully for me, thank you Microsoft.

The form then tells me I won't have to send in my defective one, that I can just keep it.

I'm really happy about that because it's sort of difficult to send in something that only exists in the insanity of how to get this form to send me this adapter world.

So in 3 to 4 weeks (that's worst case I hope) I shall receive my new adapter. And all it took was about 30 minutes of my life I will never get back. And opening a trouble ticket for something I don't own, never have owned and have no idea what it even looks like.

Hahahaha. Man that was great. Good info too because I have to do the same thing.

EDIT:
Just went through the same process. Seems as though everything worked accordingly. I had looked the other day because my kids were bugging me to get the Kinect up and going so they can play Just Dance but couldn't find anything. Granted it was a half assed search. Thanks again ODogg for the leg work on this.
