Man I am SERIOUSLY torn because of Scorpio. I just got a 4K TV and I need a UHD player. But when I look at them they are about $225-250, or some price as an Xbox One S.

So logically that means I should buy an Xbox One S. Which means selling my Xbox One. Well my wife is not at ALL keen on that but fortunately she has a friend who wants to buy my Xbox One, which I think would endear my wife to not being upset if I were to sell to her friend.

However, I know that I will want Scorpio and thus will either have to spend more money to MS and get that too or sell my newly bought (relatively anyways) Xbox One S.

And on top of all of this I know my wife will be like "why in the hell do you need to buy yet ANOTHER xbox one when you just bought one in March??"

It would all be so simple if I could get a UHD player for about $150 and I'd just do that and wait on Scorpio but alas that's not an option.

I was thinking maybe one option would be to buy Xbox One S, save the receipt, sell it for maybe a discount or such of $50 near Christmas when Scorpio launches and you know, it'd still be under warranty and like new...

It all seems like a huge hassle just to play UHD movies and have my Xbox One play 4K games. I know, I know, I should just wait is the rational thing to do but I hate waiting, LOL

So what do you guys think?

I couldn't resist the one s Black Friday deals. I think I paid like 225 for mine. I keep all my stuff on externals for the most part so the switch over was pretty painless.

Glad I held on to my day one too since I just got 150 for it Sunday. Think trade in value was 75 when I got the OneS.

The trade-in right now is $150 on Xbox One so this woman I would be selling to is getting a decent deal because you know Gamestop would mark it up to $199 probably. Plus I'm giving her a bunch of games so she won't need to buy any games for awhile to have something to do.

Dell actually has a deal for $299 get an Xbox One S and get a $100 Dell Gift Card. I wonder if that gift card could be used on Scorpio this fall.

Ordering from Dell though, I dunno, might take forever to get something like Scorpio...

Yeah. 150 for the Xbox and some games is definitely fair. I say do it. It's worth it for the uhd player alone probably. Plus don't they look happy together?

They look adorable!! Man I am tempted to spend more (shhh don't tell the wife) to get the Gears of War red though, my entire game room is decked out in red.

I know if I do that though I'd be unable to bring myself to sell it and I doubt the Scorpio will have a red one come out like that, LOL

Could I use the $100 gift card towards Scorpio? How is Dell about getting new consoles like that? Would the gift card still be good in November/December?

Never really ordered anything video game related from Dell.

Yeah, Dell has a thing going where they have good deals and then a gift card, some people are rolling the gift cards into other deals.

I wouldn't count on Dell to get a Scorpio though, that'll be a local big box store preorder for sure.

Yeah, if I were to get that deal I'd just spend that $100 Gift card on a 2TB external drive they have for the Xbox One S. You're right, they probably won't have Scorpio for a while.

As far as I know, brute processing power and graphical ability but yes the S is 4K, which is why I want it. You may be right though, maybe I am all into the Scorpio and not sure why other than I've bought into the hype.

Can anyone who is a bit more knowledgeable post as to what the Scorpio might do a lot better than the Xbox One S?

Honestly I don't even game that much on the Xbox anymore, but I do love the system and I need my Forza fix.

Gaming wise it just has hdr. No 4k.
