    Xbox One

Maybe I am just missing it but is there a standby type mode that will keep XB1 on while downloading? It seems to cut off after a certain amount of time.

This is the only options I know of:

How to change the power settings on your Xbox One console

It's easy to customize the power settings on your Xbox One console. For example, you can configure your console to shut down automatically or to turn on with a voice command (where available).
      To configure your power settings:
      1. Double-tap the Xbox button to open the guide.
      2. Select Settings > All Settings > Power & startup.
      3. Select Power mode & startup. You have the following options:
        • Turn off after - Turn off the console automatically when it's not being used. Your options are:
          • 1 hour of inactivity
          • 6 hours of inactivity
          • Don't turn off automatically

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. Was downloading a game and came home to find XB1 off and game only half way downloaded.

Forza Horizon 3 is also $40 at Best Buy and GameStop this week. I'm waiting for it to hit $30 with the expansion pass hitting $20 or both expansions being $10 individually simply because I purchased a $50 Xbox Gift Card that's used through the console so im waiting for the sale to eventually happen one of these Tuesdays. LOL.

And I agree 100% in regards to why other publishers haven't followed EA Access. I would LOVE UbiAccess since Ubisoft is my number one developer/publisher and third party company. They rarely if ever let me down or disappoint me.

And nice...AC Rogue??? HELL YEAH!!! An awesome game. Takes everything great about Black Flag and improves on, has a better story even though it's shorter but takes away all that eavesdropping garbage. Anyone who's played Black Flag and enjoyed it should play Rogue. It's also connected to Unity but amazingly, the connection was screwed up in Unity.

Really stupid question that I'm sure is something I'm just missing. I'm trying to play a UHD 4k Blu-Ray on the Xbox One S, I've got HDR turned on for this HDMI port yet according to my TV I'm only getting 1920x1080, that isn't right is it? I don't know if its a setting on the Xbox One that I'm not setting correctly or the TV itself, basically I'm clueless at this point. When I look online it says 4k is supposed to be 3840x2160 and I'm only getting half that. Any help would be appreciated.

Couple things to double check. Make sure in your advanced picture settings on your tv that the hdmi your Xbox one is plugged into has UHD color on.

On the Xbox go to video settings and make sure you have the resolution set correctly (4k). Also make sure you have hdr checked. There is also a TV info (may be worded different) in the same area that will tell you all the recommendations to set based on your TV. Just click it and it'll test it.

I'm not by my Xbox right now but that should do it. If you have anymore questions I'll try to help more.

Maybe check which HDMI port you are plugged into. I had this problem when I first purchased my tv. Had it in the wrong port. My tv only allows 4K through HDMI 1. Good luck

I did all that, on the dashboard for the XBox I'm getting 3840x2160 but when the 4k blu-ray movie is playing it drops down for some reason and I can't figure out why. There is nothing telling me I'm getting HDR either, it almost feels like its basically just upconverting the traditional blu-ray instead of playing a 4k movie.

When I go to the 4k TV Details option it says my TV supports HDR gaming and video and both at 10-bit

Yeah I tried searching for that to make sure there wasn't a specific port on my TV but wasn't able to find anything. I have the KS8000 but haven't found anything online that says I have to hook it into a specific HDMI port to get HDR and actual 4k playback.

EDIT - I think I might have figured it out. When I booted up the movie initially I had "game mode" enabled, I turned it off but didn't restart the movie at the time. When I turned the movie off and then checked all my settings and turned it back on it seemed to work as I was getting 3840x2160 and it said HDR and UHD was working. I'm left to assume that while in game mode it won't give me HDR for movies and won't display the 3840x2160 resolution either.

So this probably will sound dumb but I know the new 4k disks come with a standard Blu-ray and a 4k Blu-Ray. Did you maybe put the standard one in? Other then that I have no idea what's happening.

That's it. Game mode basically turns off all video processing to limit lag when playing games. Glad you figured it out.

Yeah I stupidly assumed it would just update once I turned game mode off but apparently not, I should have thought of that but for whatever reason I didn't. Thanks for the help man, appreciate it.

I love play anywhere titles. Nice to have the option to play on PC but keep my same saves. And can share titles on multiple PC's, not just the "home" one like xbox.
