He says this thing happens all the time as a part of console develoment, and will eventually get fixed. But there is NO chance of early October release...
    • Certainly not for 21 countries. As we know they already dropped down to 13 countries. The "localization" excuse is bull****. Period. "TRUTHFACT." It's an excuse nobody with common sense would consider. If you cross reference against the languages spoken, and official and other languages is said country. He said yield issues 2 months ago and the "chicks have come home to roost." I'm not sure what the next part says... "Knock ons for launch title" 1 smart glass etc. Instead of 180's coherent vision? They are paying the price now?
    • Late October Launch is set for PS4. Sony's SDK is fully ready, and you can basically "master2 final right now. Today." Not sure what that means, but sounds like the console is basically ready.
    • FYI, though people were mad about Bayonetta going exclusive to Wii U, you'll be somewhat unhappy about what MS is moneyhatting with Platinum. Other Japanese devs are "in play" too, but Kamiya is the only 1 he's 100% sure about. The game is not for North America or Europe, which doesn't make sense.
    • Big Park cancelled a game. It was a MOBA. 100% Dead. The whole studio is now focusing on TV services. All the best talent went to Big Tusk or left MS entirely. Rare is still Kinect focused, regardless of what you guys may have heard.
    • New Indie publishing policy is not yet set. It will be post launch.
    • Early September surprise.
Apologize in advanced. Everything I saw over the last 24 months was no chance of Kinectless SKU. It was solid and concrete info.

      Well, about that...
Whispers of optional Kinect (not in Box, SKU happening early next year).
Enough smoke now to point out the fire before the announcement in September.

So apparently there's still hope for a Kinectless Xbox One, just not within the first 6 months of launch!

I expect it will control your receivers w/ IR blasters and whatnot the same way a GoogleTV did. I hated IR blasters but was pleasantly surprised how well it worked with even that subpar product.

So you'll be able to interact w/ the One's guide, tell it to go to a channel and it'll flip your DVR to it. Not sure how well it will work with the other functions of receivers though.

Details of all of this hasn't been released, but it's not exactly proprietary or custom technology to do so.

Yeah...I know it doesn't come with separate IR blasters to plug in, but it has a plug in back specifically for them.

I know Kinect has some abilities here, but usually the cable box will be in the shelf below Kinect, so not sure how it'll work.

Think we'll have to buy separate blasters and hide them in the room somewhere? Seems annoying, but MS hasn't talked about that at all.

One of the reasons I'm still evaluating...I need this info lol.

My Logitech Revue worked through a shelf without actual line of sight, I have no idea how. I had included IR blasters hooked up for a while because I thought I needed them. Kinect 2 has an IR blaster on it.

So a big rumor today is that FIFA 14 is getting bundled with EU XB1's free of charge....which would be nuts.

If true, gotta think NA would get something similar...I'm thinking Madden?

Microsoft cancels their GamesCom conference, which is really bizarre. I get the feeling Sony locked down an early release date, and Microsoft didn't feel like getting one-upped on another big stage.

I just don't get the marketing for this kind of thing at all. It didn't work for Nintendo at E3, and it's not going to work for MS either. This is probably the second biggest stage in gaming, and you are basically going to lay down and let Sony take the attention from it? Weird.

I think he's misconstruing Trapper's post on "No Live Stream at Gamescom."

It's just another example how so many have taken false information and ran with it all over the internet.

The conference isn't canceled, MS isn't streaming their conference is all.

I'm sure this has been answered but I am not as in touch with these conferences as others. Why would MS not want to do a live stream? It seems like a no-brainer nowadays.

Word is they want the press to have a more intimate time with MS, devs & the system itself.

Word also is MS will have up to 100 playable XB-1 @ Gamescon

They don't have a traditional conference. It'll be a showcase where they will be a brief presentation given out, followed by the gaming press getting hands on with the developers. Microsoft will be periodically releasing video/news from the showcase.
