Re: Xbox One
I expect it will control your receivers w/ IR blasters and whatnot the same way a GoogleTV did. I hated IR blasters but was pleasantly surprised how well it worked with even that subpar product.
So you'll be able to interact w/ the One's guide, tell it to go to a channel and it'll flip your DVR to it. Not sure how well it will work with the other functions of receivers though.
Details of all of this hasn't been released, but it's not exactly proprietary or custom technology to do so.Comment

I know Kinect has some abilities here, but usually the cable box will be in the shelf below Kinect, so not sure how it'll work.
Think we'll have to buy separate blasters and hide them in the room somewhere? Seems annoying, but MS hasn't talked about that at all.
One of the reasons I'm still evaluating...I need this info lol.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
So a big rumor today is that FIFA 14 is getting bundled with EU XB1's free of charge....which would be nuts.
If true, gotta think NA would get something similar...I'm thinking Madden?Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: Xbox One
Microsoft cancels their GamesCom conference, which is really bizarre. I get the feeling Sony locked down an early release date, and Microsoft didn't feel like getting one-upped on another big stage.
I just don't get the marketing for this kind of thing at all. It didn't work for Nintendo at E3, and it's not going to work for MS either. This is probably the second biggest stage in gaming, and you are basically going to lay down and let Sony take the attention from it? Weird.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Xbox One
I'm sure this has been answered but I am not as in touch with these conferences as others. Why would MS not want to do a live stream? It seems like a no-brainer nowadays.YNWAComment

Word also is MS will have up to 100 playable XB-1 @ Gamescon

Re: Xbox One
They don't have a traditional conference. It'll be a showcase where they will be a brief presentation given out, followed by the gaming press getting hands on with the developers. Microsoft will be periodically releasing video/news from the showcase.Comment
