Kinect is still a very important part of the experience. They wanna make sure every Xbox one owner has the opportunity to use it if they chose. So there for I highly doubt they will ever ship it without a Kinect. Maybe some retailers, smaller ones will sell it separate. At least this stops the whole spying talk. Thought that was a bit ridiculous.

Still on the fence...

Re: Xbox One
I'd be very disappointed if they killed off the 360 before its time. They've made some blunders, but I don't think that they're that short-sighted.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 08-12-2013, 07:03 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I like this guys response to that question on the Kotaku comments...
No chance. What's the point of advancing the technology and splitting the userbase? Completely removes the possibility of a dev taking advantage of the technology. PSEye will die because of this.
I also like this response...
Allowing a person to disable it is fine, this leaves it to the developers to enforce it's use and not the OS. However I don't want them to remove the kinect to lower the price but to still keep it in the box. Removing it from the box would cause alot of developers to ignore it because the amount of people who own it would diminish. I want a large amount of people to own it so that developers are encouraged to think, "Hey everyone has a kinect why don't we add some cool kinect features to it like if you get up from the couch the game automatically pauses for you"
A small little feature that could be implemented into many games if they know everyone has one improving the overall experience.Comment

MS has made cheaper versions of 360 for this reason...won't be going away anytime soon.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
At this point I'm not worrying about all this flip flopping MS is doing about the Xbox one. They are just simply trying to make their fans happy. Also people must not forget that not to long ago a few top guys in the company went bye bye a few weeks after E3. These new guys are making these changes to make the company and their sales better. I'm glad the Kinect no loner is needed to play the system. But I never was to mad about the Kinect been needed to get the system to run. I'm afraid about the spying nonsense. But I guess the changes is making other people in a sense. I will still be hooking up my Kinect day one. I want to get the full usage out of the next gen.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I still want an X1 but will need to wait for a $ drop.
However they need to get a nice crop of X1 exclusive games first also.Joshua:

Re: Xbox One
Great news about the Kinect. I can't afford two consoles at launch right now, but will likely get an xbox one sometime this first year.
In contrast, Sony is still supporting the PS3, much like they did for the PS2. Their exclusive game lineup for the PS3 in 2013 alone includes big titles like God of War Ascension, The Last of Us, Gran Turismo 6, Beyond: Two Souls, Ni No Kuni etc. There's over 20 exclusives for the PS3 that have been released (or are going to release) in 2013, and then a few more coming out next year, too.
So far, Sony's the only one backing up their claim of supporting the current gen even after the next gen is released. I guess what's disappointing for me, is that when the 360 first came out, they had all the games. But for some reason, even for the past couple of years, there have been a ton more PS3 exclusives than 360 exclusives. So it really seems like Microsoft is turning their attention away from the 360 and focusing solely on the xbox one.Last edited by Trapper700; 08-12-2013, 10:01 PM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I've always been extremely disappointed that the only system we have to learn from about a long life is the PS2. I loved the Original Xbox, and it was my favorite system until the PS3. I wish Microsoft wouldn't have threw it away like they did.--

Yep. the 360 will be supported for some time to come. Don't see a reason to think otherwise.Joshua:

Is this because Microsoft says so because they wouldn't go back on their word? Or is it the number of exclusives confirmed?Comment

Re: Xbox One
Don't know how long the 360 will be supported but pretty sure it will be far longer than the original XBOX was.
MS hasn't been so steady but the changes they "seem" to be making in regards to the X1 are ones the gamers wanted.
Don't see how that has anything to do with the 360 lifespan though...Last edited by Skyboxer; 08-13-2013, 01:07 AM.Joshua:
