Actually you can with downloaded games. Like for example, Forza. I buy it on my account but on my friends xbox then go to my download history and redownload it on my profile. On my firends xbox, any profile that is there can play that game online since his Xbox has the license but on my own xbox only my profile can play that game. He can get on and play the game while I am on it on my xbox.

These last few months are gonna be torture.

Anyone jump in on ordering from Microsoft from the Xbox live dashboard? Are those guaranteed to be release day??

Let me ask in a slightly different way to see if I understand (this is currently with the 360).

Player 1 is in one city with their profile on their "home xbox"
Player 2 is in another city with their profile on their "home xbox"

They send each other credentials (assuming they are trusted) - then using each others' profile, they can log in and play the other player's games online.

Is this true? Or am I missing a piece of it?

They only need to log in to each other's profile to purchase the games. Player 2 logs into Player 1's gamertag and purchases whatever game/dlc. Player 2's console now has the license to those games and can play on any profile. Player 1 now has to log into his gamertag and download the game. He can only play the game under his profile.

I believe it works using the license transfer as well. Just use transfer to each other's consoles so that they are free to play on any gamertag, but you have to be under yours. It doesn't really affect you much since you should always be under your gamertag anyways.

I feel you with the torture, once we get to splinter cell timeframe I think I'm good. Splinter cell and the turtles XBLA game will hold me until GTA V, and then that will hold until the next gen consoles.

Joe, I want to thank you or keeping this thread up to date with new info. I really appreciate. I'm getting both systems at launch, but I'm looking forward to getting the 1.

According to this interview the Kinect doesn't have to be connected for the xbox to work. That's huge for people who were on the fence about getting it.

"That said, like online, the console will still function if Kinect isn’t plugged in, although you won’t be able to use any feature or experience that explicitly uses the sensor," he said.

So it will be a DVD/Blu-ray player without the Kinect plugged in?

If you're asking if it will still play games, then yes, it will still do that going by this news.

According to the links above, it will be like using a feature on your phone that is turned off (data, gps, wifi, etc), it will ask you to turn it on.
