MS continues the trickle of information this week: http://news.xbox.com/2013/08/xbox-on...-and-live-gold

Overview of how Live Gold (or Home Gold they seem to call it in some circumstances works)

In short, if you have Gold you can log in anywhere and play your digital games and your Gold benefits apply to that console you're logged into. Meanwhile your home console always receives those benefits, no matter who is logged in and even if the gold-subscribing account is not.

I didn't really learn anything from this article, maybe someone else will.

So you can be at home and your friend at his house. He logs into your account on his Xbox and can play your games?

Features like that make me wanna go digital. Digital is the future, but they can speed up the process offering more benefits for digital games. They should be cheaper cutting out the middle man(GameStop, Walmart), bring back the sharing feature where you could let up to 10 people play your games. Allow me to sell my digital license for some type of virtual money so I can purchase more digital games. All digital gaming can work if they support it properly.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Well you could just set up an account no one really uses for that gold account and use a different account as your main one at home.

That's really cool. But I still have to stick with my PS4 and maybe get the Xbox One down the road. I prefer the exclusives like Naughty Dog and most importantly The Show. No forced camera that I don't want anyways and a 100 dollars cheaper is nice too.

                  Oh, totally....just pointing it out.

I think I'll be hopelessly on the fence until release lol

I wonder if I log into my gold account at my friends house and boot up say NBA 2K14, can a family member back at home on the home console boot up NBA 2K14 at the same time ? I doubt it but would be cool.

Seems like they should be able to, as long as it was a digital purchase.

Also, unrelated, the fate of the grandfathered family plans has been decided: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/billin...ual-member-faq

tl;dr: All participants in an existing family plan account will be converted to individual gold accounts with the time left on the family plan + 3 months added to their subscription.

Isn't that how it normally is on 360 anyways aside from the home console not being able to play multiplayer? Your friend can use your gamertag and play all of your games with benefits while the home console can play all the same games without being logged into that gamertag

                          That's great, thanks for that.

Kinda sucks but I figured something like this was going to be implemented. I'll let my grandfathered family gold plan expire and only keep a single gold account once the +3 months runs out i guess.

Yeah most likely otherwise you could give your login to a friend you trusted and split the cost of games.

yeah but you both can't be online at the same time, it fine for offline, but unless they are completely stupid, they won't let you both play online
