Exactly, I am assuming it is like "Watch ESPN." A lot of the smaller cable companies will probably not be included.

****, small companies? Companies like Comcast and Time Warner just got Watch ESPN and HBO GO a few years ago. We will see what happens.

I expect most will work, via IR blasters. Before Google TV I would have cringed at the idea. Just like most of not all providers MS will get guide data from a third party. This makes integration/cooperation/partnerships/etc with providers unnecessary.

That unboxing got me excited. Can't wait to read impressions when this thing finally drops.

I do think it'll be via IR blasters...I want more info how it works like Aaron, which is why I'm still on the fence.

I don't know how the cable guide setup will work, stuff like that.

Controlling your cable box is just like a Logitech Harmony remote though, the xbox should have access to all buttons...it's more just a matter of how it all interacts.

Hopefully Gamescom will give us more info.

Also, does anyone know if PS4 ships with the HDMI like the Xbox is? Does it have the headset? Just wondering...getting those for free cuts down on the 100 price difference....

Yes, comes with an HDMI cable. The headset the PS4 comes with looks to be pretty bad but at least they're including one this time. On the plus side, it supports any USB headsets and stuff from the previous generation anyway without any other requirements.

The PS4 does include a headset (better yet, ear buds with a mic) but atleast it is something. Plus that fact that my Pulse Elite headset will work on the PS4 is sweet.

                        Re: Xbox One

I've been thinking about it, and I have to believe that an early November release is most likely. I'd love to see an October release (I could easily see one system releasing early just to spite the other), but the closer to Christmas, the more likely people will be to splurge on extra equipment, games, and online services.

I'm wondering what's going to be announced as GamesCom. I think both Sony and MS had something planned, and then MS got the self-publishing thing spoiled for them. We'll see, but I have a feeling we will be getting some good news soon.

Bethesda is confirmed to be there, so Fallout 4 or a new Bethesda IP seems likely. Doubt they would just show up for ESO, which has already been talked about at length.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a new Beth game, and while there are lots of people who are excited about ESO, there are also a lot of people who never wanted an ES mmo in the first place... it could be the appearance at Gamescom is more to try and win over some of those potential buyers.

MMOs are such a big investment, they could be all-ESO all the time until launch.

30 minutes of world creation in Project Spark. Pretty cool stuff, didn't have time to watch much of it, but even just clicking through it you can see some of the cool stuff you can do with it. Kinda reminds me of all the random stuff we used to do with Mario Paint.

From 38:00 and onward is really interesting, a side scroller and then they maim it, change it to a FPS, etc.
