Re: Xbox One
Ok, thanks for the insight. I heard NFL2k5 was ported and many other sports games as well...even back in 2001-2005 the word "port" was a common word. So I guess it can be difficult to know what was truly ported in every case (and why), but in many cases developers went on record about porting.
NFL 2k5 had a bunch of features on Xbox that were not on PS2, and many other games had better framerates on xbox. So, while I may be wrong as to why exactly this was the case, the bottom line is for 2 generations the Microsoft's cross-plat sports games have often outperformed Sony's. And I don't want to miss out like that again.
What do you think will happen with the PS4 and Xbox One?Comment

Re: Xbox One
The best sports game this generation was exclusive to the PS3. The next generation will probably be no different. As far as porting goes games will be the same. Why? They have VERY similar articheture. There is no reason to believe next gen will be the same as this gen. If you are mainly a sports gamer then PS4 has to be your choice going into next generation. Unless you really just don't care about baseball.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Xbox One
But the architecture is not exactly the same, which is what worries me. So there will be a difference, it's just a matter of "what will the difference be and on which console." In the past, there was always some spec or feature or "fact" that was pointed to on paper that people pointed to in order to say the sports games on both systems would be the same, but they weren't. They just weren't.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Decided to keep my PS4 pre-order and get both. I try to justify the price I'll be spending for both consoles and games being as $800 came from tax return. So, out of pocket I've only paid about $900 for 2 consoles, an extra Xbox controller, a Pulse Elite wireless headset for PS4, and 10 games. Not bad at all.Last edited by CaliDude916; 08-04-2013, 01:12 AM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I officially cancelled my Xbox One preorder today. Depending on how the feedback is, I'll likely buy one next year. For right now, I'm going with the PS4. Hopefully, both systems will be hugely successful so that it forces both Microsoft and Sony to up their games.
Right now what it came down to was I don't want to pay an additional $100 (and likely another $20 for a headset) when I don't feel like I'm getting much in return. I really don't care much for the Kinect. I'm not counting out the Kinect as I think it does have potential but I'm not willing to shell out an additional $100 for it right now. In a year or two, the Kinect, TV integration, and entertainment apps might mean more to me. Right now, I plan on enjoying the PS4 and using my 360 for apps that are exclusive to Xbox.NCAA: Virginia Cavaliers

Re: Xbox One
Buddy of mine that works at GS said they've heard some murmurings that the XBO release date will be 11/5.
He didn't have anything to back it up, just a rumor but he's been pretty good with any other stuff we've talked about in the past.
It'd make sense although the XBO, Battlefield 4, and COD: Ghosts dropping the same day might be messy...actually that'd be nuts lol.
I can't see either them or Sony going past mid November though...gotta get that Black Friday rush in ha.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: Xbox One
Agreed it'd be insane...when we were talking he said personally he thought it'd be somewhere between the 12-19.
Can't imagine it'd be too far away from the COD launch though...I wonder if they'd launch on a Friday? If so I'd go with the 8th or 15th.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: Xbox One
The closer we get to the release of the next-gen consoles, the more Sony and Microsoft have begun trying to one-up the other -- which is obviously great for gamers. I'm wondering if this kind of competition is going to run right through into the next generation. Are we going to see big time sales like we have been lately, especially on Xbox?
I'm really excited to see how all of this turns out, and the wait for the new consoles is going a lot slower than I would have liked.Writer for Operation Sports

If Xbox one can get rid of the connect and offer the console for 400, I will be there day one. As of right now, ps4 is the logical choice unless you love kinect or want titanfall.REDSKINS & WIZARDSComment

Probably doesn't need to be emphasized but just thought I'd throw it out there.
