    Re: Xbox One

The One S's lack of a Kinect port does worry me going forward. While I can live with the Kinect's camera going away, I will always want a mic for voice control and an IR blaster to control my TV and DVR.

If they would come out with a smaller one without a camera, I would buy it.

Just went through the same process. Seems as though everything worked accordingly. I had looked the other day because my kids were bugging me to get the Kinect up and going so they can play Just Dance but couldn't find anything. Granted it was a half assed search. Thanks again ODogg for the leg work on this.

I know it would probably hurt their new backwards compatible select games. But I really hope Scorpio can read XBox 360 disk and you can play them if you own them. Primarily for NCAA Football so I can sell my Xbox 360 finally

Would be nice, yes. However wouldn't they have to add NCAA to the BC program first though? Unfortunately, I'm not sure that would ever happen at this point if it hasn't already.

No I would saying if Scorpio could read old 360 disks. Then it wouldn't have to be added to their list. You could just pop it in and play it.

              Re: Xbox One

I don't think reading them is the problem, it needs to be able to run them. That's why there's the BC program, it's wrapping and redistributing games to run on the emulator that works on the Xbox One architecture. That change and redistribution is likely why licensed titles can't get this treatment unless the license hasn't expired.

Because the Scorpio will be the same OS as the Xbox One, it stands to reason this isn't something that will change unfortunately.

One day we'll get a NCAA football game, not sure it's anytime soon though

This...i highly doubt they'd add the 360 chips to Scorpio.

I personally think it's a EA license issue not a technical issue keeping it off the BC list.

They would still run into the same licensing issues. NCAA is unfortunately not happening.

                    Re: Xbox One

My understanding is that since Microsoft has to manipulate the code that is run on the XB1 to get the 260 games to work, and that you are not actually using the disc, but a downloaded, modified file, you need permissions fro the publisher to distribute that.

If they could get their console to play the discs as is, then you could get games like NCAA to be BC. But that is not the case.

I don't think there is going to be a 360 chip in the Scorpio. But then, some are speculating that Scorpio may go all the way back and get the OG Xbox games going.

Honestly, the last time I tried to play PGR2 on the 360 I realized that I just can't go back. It's still one of my all time favorite racing games, but it didn't age as well as I would have thought.

I had the same problem the last time I tried to play NCAA. Madden has moved so far beyond it, that it was kind of painful. There is stuff I miss from NCAA, but the gameplay was pretty abysmal. And I'm someone who played NCAA over Madden exclusively on the the 360 because I preferred the gameplay so much.

Some games age better, sports and racing, in my opinion, not so much.

I wonder if that will hit me. I'm in ring 4. They describe it as only getting updates the nit is nearly ready. I'm fine with that. Much of the time the it's not a big deal. But with big changes, it is a pain to explain them to my wife, and then, when there are bugs, she is grumpy.

But I am getting anxious to try out the new dashboard.

What's the Beta Ring? Last time I heard Xbox and ring is was the RRD and that wasn't a good thing.

I used to be in the early stages update wise but once I got a OneS is all got messed up. Now I'm in the 4th ring too. Not sure what happen.

You can opt into different rings in the insider app to control how frequent and how 'beta' your updates are.
