Re: Xbox One
I am in the process of building a new PC as well. I am buying parts as they go on sale.
My current PC is still decent enough so I have been buying games on PC and havent touched my other systems in a while.
So I have a Switch, Xbox 1 S and a PS4. I want to keep the PS4 for sure because PES plays better on it and it has the Show.
The Switch is just different, so I want to play my Nintendo exclusives as they come out.
However, my Xbox hasnt seen action in FOREVER. Should I get rid of it? I know some games can be played on PC and Xbox, but I would have to get it via Windows Store, right? I prefer steam tbh.PSN: Peji911Comment

Re: Xbox One
You won't find games such as Forza and Gears of war in steam. They will only be in windows store and limited to Windows 10. the Xbox Play Anywhere titles, it only applies to windows store as well.

Re: Xbox One
I will get the X if it is truly compatible with 360 and Xbx games (original disks).Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Xbox One
If so, i may buy one for myself so I can still play my beloved MLB2K13.

Re: Xbox One
That's not how BC works. The disc is your license for compatible games, which then lets you play a copy that is downloaded from MS servers. The modifying of the game to allow it to play on the console is why we won't see licensed titles like the NCAA series appear.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Is that what they're claiming?

Re: Xbox One
Mestevo just corrected/clarified my earlier statement. But what I read before gave me the impression that they were trying to make the machine totally BC as long as you had the disk. Looks like it will just be select games though, but you still need the disk. Or maybe I'm still confused...
Considering the nightmare it may be to get the MLB and MLBPA rights, I doubt we see MLB2K13 on the X.

With that being said, the original Xbox, and the Xbox 360 titles that are on the backwards compatibility list can be played on the Xbox One now, and therefore the One X as well when it comes along. You can do this by either having the original disc, or purchasing it from the digital store. It then downloads it from the servers, and you can play it using the onboard emulator (or however they're referring to it) on the One, or One X just as if you were playing it on the 360.
Hope that helps. I think the big thing they were trying to get across (and what may have been causing the confusion) is that the OneX is fully backwards compatible to the current Xbox One, for games, AND accessories. Own madden 18 for the Xb1, and upgrade to the Xb1X this fall? No problem. The Xb1X will just download the upcoming 4k/hdr upgrade for you if you tell it to because you have the TV to use it. Pretty sure that's how that part will work anyways, but I'm not entirely clear there so maybe someone can correct me there if need be. Maybe in the future the disc will have the 4k/hdr Xb1X compatible content with it if the game is released with it. Not sure, again, someone else can maybe clarify that. I dont have a 4k tv yet, so the X isn't on my radar yet, although I may grab one anyways just for the upgrade in performance over the One.
But, bottom line; not every original Xb, or Xb360 game will play on the One X. Only those on the current backwards compatible list. But every Xbox One game will indeed still play on the Xbox One X when it comes due.
Hope that helps.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment
