Yeah they did me too but that's just a pre-authorization and that goes off your card in a few days.

I did just see that, just a few minutes ago, Best Buy charged my card. Still no status change on their site though.

Interesting. That means ark devs messed up. Which is not shocking. People are definitely complaining about having to DL the 30 gig update while not even purchasing the X

Yeah, mine has been preparing since Saturday and can't make changes. I talked to someone on Online Chat after hearing people had their's delayed til the 9th or later apparently and they said mine is in the warehouse ready to ship and i will receive it by 8 PM tomorrow. I asked when to expect a tracking number, they said tonight. So, that is what I am gonna go off.

More emphasis on 1st party studios coming.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Spencer said that the company plans to increase investment in first-party games, whether that’s by starting new studios or acquiring existing ones. In addition, they will also invest more in developing in-house games from studios that Xbox already owns.

Well they charged me the entire thing, but I’m assuming it’s because I put it on a debit card and not credit. On debit cards they instantly charge you. Not going to lie, if I preordered 2 months ago and don’t get my console on time I’d be a bit upset as well. Especially when everyone else is getting theirs from Amazon and other retailers.

No update at all on my Best Buy status either. How this thing is supposed to charge my card, prepare, ship and be at my house in one day is beyond me..

It is called computers man. A rough translation of the process is like so:
They have an assembly line per se. Order sheets, inventory, and for pre-orders like this, likely grouped separately from standard orders. Grouped by where they need to ship and what type of shipping to get a release day delivery (and not sooner, they get fines for breaking street date.)

When they get to yours they scan the sheet, the computer charges the card on file for the order, a label gets slapped on the box, the item goes in, then it goes on a pallet. The pallets are picked up by the carriers they use (UPS, FedEx, USPS.) They take to their location, go on a truck which typically move overnight. There are locations in Indiana, Northern IL, and I believe Ohio, all of which could serve your location.

It gets to your local facility in the early AM, sorted, then on the delivery trucks for delivery that day.

But because some online chat rep who really doesn't know about any of this, cannot give any "real" answers other than giving options from a help desk guide they have to go through (it says it should be there tuesday so it is on track! It should be there but let us know if it isn't and we can explore options then!) you are getting a negative mindset about a company and trying to change your order WHEN THE ITEM HAS YET TO EVEN BE RELEASED YET. Because you personally do not understand how logistics work and cant fathom how one day shipping works.

That sir, probably is somewhere near the definition of petty.

Mine was a debit card. They charged mine in full but then like 2 days later the charge was gone. I really would have rather they just kept the charge on there just in case I was low on money anyways.

This whole thing has been very confusing as to what is really going on. Best Buy sent me a PM on Twitter just now saying that my order will still be there tomorrow but I didn't cancel the Amazon order yet.

I haven't changed a single thing about my Best Buy order from the time I placed it on August 20th. And no sir, there's absolutely nothing petty about botched customer service and confusion around a large money purchase.

Especially for a company like Best Buy that is struggling mightily to compete with Amazon and Walmart.
