Best Buy chat is telling me that they will “most likely” get inventory from Microsoft this evening and that my console “most likely” won’t arrive until November 9th or possibly much later.

That is 100% unacceptable seeing as how I’ve had it ordered since 8/20.

I have spent a lot of money at Best Buy the past several years but they are likely losing a customer after this nonsense.

They reopened pre-orders up again on 9/20 so obviously they thought they had plenty of inventory to cover the original orders and then some. That is their mistake and they can own that.

For most of us all we don't know who is to blame and that really isn't the point, the point is we won't get what we ordered when we were told.

I myself was told as recently as Friday afternoon they guaranteed I'd get my order on Tuesday and now they are changing their story. That most definitely is their fault and not Microsofts for making a promise they cannot keep.

If you look at the definition of petty, which is "of little importance", I guess you are right, ultimately I am of little importance to Best Buy apparently.

So next time I'll order from Amazon where I am not considered to be "petty".

I don't think he's really commenting on the situation, just using it as a chance to take a cheap shot at me for whatever reason.

BTW - He meant it as "You are being petty", but he actually said "You are petty". Two different things entirely...

No I'm not being petty, as it is rather large issue to have a business not honor their word of months.

But he is right, I am petty because ultimately Best Buy doesn't put much importance on my order. LOL, so yeah he was right even though he just meant it as some random insult.

Best buy. I just now talked to them via chat on their website and the person i talked to said mine is in the warehouse ready to ship tonight and I am due to receive it by tomorrow night. I'm on you guys side especially if your order did indeed get delayed. They should have been prepared for this and i would try and get some kind of compensation for them guaranteeing a delivery date and not honoring it.
