    Re: Xbox One

Depends on the game. I notice it on some games, but I'm not a sports gamer for the most part so I'm no help there for comparing.

Here's the thing: you won't be playing them side by side, so you won't notice if one looks slightly better/worse. If the XBone version of a game looks more than slightly worse than the ps4 version or runs significantly worse, it's because of a ****ty port. Not because of the console - and ****ty ports can happen everywhere, just ask PC Gamers.

If you want to get a console, get one. You really can't go wrong with either console this generation, it just depends on what is important to you as a gamer and where the people you play with play.

Get both of them at some point, that way you'll never miss a game you want.

I wonder if anyone tried vpn their xbox and windows 10 device to see how much bandwidth you would need for lag free gaming abroad

Those that own both ps4 and Xbox One or have played extensively on both at one point: do you actually NOTICE a difference when playing cross-platform games? I've always read but never cared when people would compare framerate or resolution (because I've always had ps4). But when you are actually playing the game, is it noticeable?

I understand the type of response I will get being in the X1 thread, but that's fine. I'm just looking for honest feedback. I don't want anyone make my decision for me, just looking for as much info as possible before I pull the trigger.

My biggest concern is sports games. Madden and NHL mostly. I don't expect there to be a huge difference in gameplay between the two consoles, but you do hear about performance varying. Just looking for first-hand accounts.

I'm ready for Halo, I'm ready for the controller, I've come to terms with losing my digital library /trade-off in exclusives. Thanks again for your help, all.
Speaking on sports games there is no difference except that PS4 has the Show and Xbox has no baseball game yet

Madden I have for both consoles and besides the xbox one looking a bit more colorful and having a better controller for sports and shooters there is no difference. The gameplay is exactly the same.

In NBA 2K15 I have for both and the PS4 colors pop a bit more and sweat is done a little more over the xbox one but that is it. The controller vibration on which hand the player has the ball makes the feel of gaming on xbox one that much better.

In NHL I played demo for both and it looks about the same but brighter on xbox one

When it comes to other games there is no question that PS4 look a bit nicer. Is it enough to sway a decision. Not in my opinion but if that small bump in resolution is important to you then by all means go with that

Games that I have played which I seen first hand that PS4 looks a bit better is below

        BF4
        COD AW
Witcher 3 (But framerate is better more stable on XBOX ONE)

Speaking on sports games I feel the xbox one is the better console due to controller and it would be no contest if Xbox had any baseball game or even the show.

The fact that PS4 has the Show gives them a huge lift of course

EA games are made for xbox one and get all the early access and MUT features in FIFA

Both consoles are so much better today over release...specially the xbox one

The key differences for both to me is that the PS4 has the slight advantage in resolution over the xbox one in many titles

What Xbox one loses in that battle they gain in my opinion by having the better controller. It last a long time on batteries or recharge and the triggers give games a feel of weight missing from Dual Shock

Dual Shock much improved from DS3 but is very overrated as the battery charge is terrible and you can be recharging at least 2 or 3 times a day if you game long hours. Not on xbox one

Now if you have all your friends on one platform then that is the one you should rock with. If that is not the most important then PS4 if you want the best possible looking game in multi plat and xbox one if you want more stability with online service and a superior controller.

The first Madden this gen I thought the difference was pretty apparent, I don't really see it now (as uber said, you won't be playing side-by-side) in the subsequent title and much else I play.

Great analysis, NYG. Only 2 of my buddies play and I think they're looking to make the move with me from ps4 to Xbox.

You've definitely helped quell my worries. I'll miss The Show, but since my phillies are mess my interest doesn't last long playing baseball anyway.

Making the trade tonight. Appreciate everybody's insight.

                      awesome

As I tell anyone, look at the TV options, Kinect, and other things. If you use them then it makes Xbox crazy awesome (IMO). I don't even have Windows 10 yet, but that'll be great too. Should eventually get to stream PC to Xbox One, so you can play PC games easily anywhere you have the Xbox....easier than hooking PC to my home tv system.

Played nhl15 on xbox one and some madden and perfectly playable and I am a 60 fps pc gaming enthusiast. I didnt really answer xbox versus ps4 but frame rate issues and stuttering do bother me.

The couple of times I have been able to try the streaming, I have been amazed at how rock solid it has been. My main XB1 is connected to my network via WiFi and I've tried both a wired PC and a wireless laptop...both performed as-advertised without an issue. Really nice to see that it just works without having to have the console strictly on a wired network connection or any other quirks (frustrations) that I experienced with PS4 remote play. Looking forward to trying it off my network soon.
