Grain of salt and all, but a retailer overseas briefly listed Scorpio overnight for 399 Euros ($430).

I'm starting to believe this thing (Scorpio) may actually sell pretty darn well. If it can come in at $399, a lot of people will upgrade. And for every person buying a new 4K TV, there is probably not a better value than getting one just as a UHD player. Personally, I don't really care about playing physical discs anymore, but if you can imagine people springing for a new 4K TV needing something to show it off.

Scorpio will have the disc player, the ability to play the 4K media on Netflix and Amazon, and have some amazing looking games, to boot. I'm day one regardless, but I think the big uptick in 4K TV sales that is coming will make make the timing of Scorpio pretty darn appealing to a wider range of customers than just gamers.

All we need now are some jaw dropping demos of Crackdown 3 and Forza 7.

I'm at a "believe it when I see it" with a 399 price point. That'd be amazing, and would sell awesomely, just not sure I see MS taking that much of a loss on it. Maybe they have to in order to try and gain ground in the console races.

I'm really curious to see where the price lands. I've been fully expecting a $499 launch price. I was initially fine with that, but now I'm not so sure that I will upgrade at $499. I have no immediate plans for a 4K TV and I'm really interested in picking up what will likely be a $199 PS4 Slim bundle this holiday.

Now, if they get Scorpio out at $399, I'll have a tough decision to make. Can't wait for E3.

I'm the same way (minus getting a PS4). I want a 4k tv, but they're expensive for bigger ones and not urgent. Plus a new house (we want something bigger) won't have as large a room so our 43" tv will be better for the time being.

That being said, a $399 Scorpio, after I figure out how to get a Switch, would be tempting. Especially if I could trade in one of my current Xbox Ones for enough value.

I think now that we know the price will be $399 most likely it means that the PS4 Pro may have to go down. Isn't competition great?

Scorpio ain't gonna sell at $399 y'all nuts. It said 399 euro not dollars.

And MS said this console wasn't for all, it's for the hardcore gamer (or something to that extent). They wouldn't say that then price it so low like that, but if they do then awesome.

I'll wait till I see something official.


If it does go 4 hundy or thereabouts, I may buy two heh.

I still think that at launch Scorpio will be $400 for 1TB, $500 for 2TB and a digital game with the Xbox One Slim being cut to $200. PS4 Pro goes to $300 and PS4 Slim goes to $200 as well. Switch stays at $300.
