I'm loving EA Access also. Live is a big improvement from the demo on PS4 Pro also. Got me wanting the PS5 with Sony's studios lol

That feature literally already exists, it's in the settings:

Settings > System > Backup & transfer. Select Download 4K

You can even enable it on non-X consoles so that you can transfer it (external HDD or Network Transfer) to an X.

Ok, this is good to know, I thought I set that, I don't recall though. I do know I had to manually download one 4K update the other night though.

That feature literally already exists, it's in the settings:

I saw this feature on my S before I traded in it, this feature is non existing on my X.

it would not be on the X because what would be the point of downloading games on the X without 4k patches....that is for the S console to transfer to the X

Are you saying the X is going to automatically just download all 4K patches?

Wouldn't that be bad for people who own the X and just have a 1080p TV?

EDIT - i don't think that setting does what we were discussing...that's under backup & transfer...what i was talking about was downloading 4K texture patches..

but if you have a 1080p tv why would you buy the x without getting the 4k assetts. this comes with the enhanced versions...super sampling occurs when the 4k assets are in the patch and it samples them down to the 1080p screen

if you did not download them which are part of the patch it would mean you bought a 500 dollar console to play old games with 16AF and dynamic resolutions which are only a few games at the highest of 1080p but no extra fidelity....

The X can only do so much for old games without the enhancements


On the S you need to have that option checked off because there is zero benefit to download enhanced patches as your console cannot take advantage of them and they just eat up gb

Question for anyone who has ever bought a Best Buy Geek Squad warranty:

If I buy the Geek Squad warranty and my Scorpio breaks down in say 3 months can you just go to Best Buy or since it is still under the Microsoft warranty will they make you first go through Microsoft for a replacement?

Yes it does.....if you want super sampling which is the #1 most that have a 1080p would get it means the 4K enhancements which are all part of the patch...There is no such thing as 4k textures...It is a marketing term...it is higher rez textures...those come with the patches and downsamples to 1080p tv....highly doubt people bought the X with the intention of playing all games without enhancements (4k textures) included which not all games have

The option on the S means that when the patch is deployed the system knows that you are on a basic xbox one and the user can bypass that enhamcent which is only for X users and not fill up the storage with unwanted gigs
