Re: Xbox One
About to join the XBOX ONE family as the S is on sale during Amazon Prime Day. I play on a 27" gaming monitor and I'm not really concerned about improved graphics. To me the most important thing is performance, and even though the X looks superior in every way, I can't justify the $300.
The 1TB S start bundle is $230 on Amazon. The price point is getting me to pull the trigger.Currently Playing:

Re: Xbox One
I have a question. Couple days ago I had a free game rental from my video store and rented Just Cause 3. I installed it and played it last night and then I saw Amazon had it for $6 for digital download so I got it.
My question is will I have to uninstall the disc version and then download the digital? And will this save my progress if I do that?Comment

Even if you uninstall a game, every single save is synced to the cloud automatically (with no space limitations and gold not required!) So if you uninstall and reinstall, or you log into another xbox to play this game, it will auto sync all your save data when you start the game.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Pretty sure the 3 months would just get added to your current subscription. I'm good until January 15th or so. Once I add another three months via the Ultimate Xbox sale, I'll be good until April 15th. Plus, im expecting good deals again around Black Weekend or Christmas.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Yeah, my mistake. Just tried increasing my subscription and doesn't extend it. It's stupid. But whatever, im sure during Black Weekend or Christmas, they'll have sales for Game Pass in stores like Best Buy, GameStop, etc. like they did with E3. Those will extend your membership.Comment

Doesn't anyone here do microsoft/bing rewards? I get enough points every year to get gold and game pass 100% for free. Just taking a few minutes each day to get search points - and now digital purchases add to rewards as well.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I thought the same thing, thinking it was a place selling a 3 month subscription code which would work. But going directly through the xbox store unfortunately it won't work.

Yeah I do, just cashed in points for $15 and rented some movies with it. It's why I use Bing

Re: Xbox One
So 2 consoles, a traditional and a streaming box coming as early as 2020.
We know Microsoft has been interested in developing a streaming service for many years. At this year's E3, the company reaffirmed that it's working on a streaming service that will allow games to be run in the Azure cloud and streamed to a relatively simple set-top box. This makes the end-user hardware much cheaper, but it has a consistent problem: latency. Every button press on the controller has to travel over the Internet to the server before it can be processed, and every frame of video similarly has to make the reverse trip before it can be seen. For games that don't rely on twitch reactions (RPGs or turn-based games, say) this is no big deal. But for games like first-person shooters, it's a huge problem.
According to Sams, Microsoft's solution is that the Scarlett Cloud box (as one person called it) will have some amount of processing power of its own. Not enough to run full games, but enough to do collision detection, input handling, and some amount of graphical processing locally without having to wait for the remote server. To do this, games are split into two parts (referred to as "slices" or "splices")—one part runs in the cloud; the other runs on the console.
The result is that Scarlett Cloud is apparently suitable for a wide range of games, even those that would normally be considered too latency-sensitive to be streamable. In fact, Sams reports that every Scarlett game will run on every Scarlett device, so streaming gamers won't be left out.Comment
