For what it's worth, this randomly happened to me last week. I am on the original Xbox One.

My only real issue after getting my Xbox one X repaired is it still seems like about one out of every ten attempts the controller does not turn on the Xbox One

I completely understand a cynical viewpoint as it's probably always best to expect worse and maybe get happily surprised but I know that being in the industry that there has been absolutely zero talk of increasing prices, in fact quite the opposite really. I can also say that Net Neutrality has not been discussed either in regards to company policy or technology, only vaguely in a personal discussion is all.

And as a long term contractor I have contacts at all the major companies, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, etc so its not just my own company I'm currently working for. Of course yeah there could be something yet to happen but I'm pretty sure that the CAF 2 (Connect America Fund) that was established to bring cheaper broadband to rural America is the real mover of the industry more than anything else in regards to lowering prices and expanding broadband options to people that do not have it right now.

In regards to what you fear, the price increase, I think if we see it it will come more from Netflix, Hulu, etc and I think if that does happen it will come about more from the companies wanting to capitalize on the public knowing about the end of Net Neutrality and being able to use that as an excuse to move the price up $1 or $2 or whatever more than anything the ISPs have done, or will do, to those types of companies in regarding their traffic.
A lot of excellent information you just posted. Thanks. Appreciate it. I'm definitely the pessimistic type especially when it comes to government and money so I'll continue to stay this way but man, I do hope you're right as I'll be very happy if you are. Thanks again.

I keep having issues with my system so strange things. I have the X and last night I turned it on and just a black screen where the dashboard should be. I was able to bring up the side menu just fine so I reset the system and it worked.

I've also had times where I turn on the system then it just turns off.

And sometimes the system can't connect to xbox live even though I use a wired connection and my internet is working fine. This has actually happened to me 3 times in the last week or so. It usually then works when I restart the system.

I'm in the preview program and I'm wondering if this may have something to do with it. Or could this stuff be a sign that my 4 month old system is dying?

I would say it's nothing to do with the preview program. I'm not in it and sometimes I get the issue when turning the system on and it won't connect to live. I usually do a hard reset and that resolves it.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

The bad news is that it sounds quite similar to what mine was doing, it kept getting worse and worse until I finally sent it back to Microsoft for repair.

The good news is that they fixed it and sent it back to me in about a week and a half and I've not had any problems since (this was about 3 weeks ago that I got it back).

Also, if you have Project Scorpio (like I do) and want to keep it, they did for me but I did put in a note with the system that I either wanted my current system repaired but if they had to replace it I would like another Project Scorpio.

And in regards to how you do the return, get a ticket number from support, you get emailed a packaging slip, they do not send you a box like in the 360 days. The upside of that is you can mail it out without having to wait for a box. The downside of that is you have to furnish a good box and pack it up securely.

Before you do all that though if I were you I'd back up all your stuff, do a hard format (factory reset) of the system and see if that will fix these issues. I did that with mine and just a day or two later I started having the same issues, which told me and Microsoft that there was something wrong with the actual hardware and not just the software or something glitchy in the software.

So if you do a hard, factory reset and you still have issues, then it's likely the hardware and it's time to get it repaired.

P.S. If you do get a repair they tack on I think 60 days to your warranty which is nice.

Unrelated but anyone else really hoping that Microsoft's next console is called Xbox Scorpio? Such a cool name. The code names are always better than what the actual name turns out to be. LOL.

August’s Xbox Live Games with Gold is pretty good this month. It features a few games I keep meaning to check out, like For Honor and Dead Space 3. As

August games with gold look pretty quality:

                  Xbox One
Forza Horizon 2 Standard—10th Anniversary Edition (August 1-31)
For Honor Standard Edition (August 16-September 15)

Xbox 360 (compatible with Xbox One)
                  Dead Space 3 (August 1-15)
Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two (August 16-31)

I'd like to see a great name like Scorpio but they won't reuse that name. Especially because they released Project Scorpio Collectors Edition for Xbox One X so that'd create a huge amount of confusion.

But I know what you mean, the code names are always awesome and then the actual name is always "????"

Right, like they should have them reversed. This last one should have been 'Project X' and then released as the 'Xbox One Scorpio'.

1000% agree, very very much agree, that's why I made it a point to get PROJECT SCORPIO collectors edition. It may not be called that as a system but at least that name is on my Xbox One X

Question for people who have both consoles, which one does Game Sharing better? My wife ordered me the PS4 Spiderman bundle, so I'll either trade in my PS4 Pro for an Xbox One S or just keep the PS4 Pro and put that in the bedroom. Just want to know which one will allow us to play together online easier...

Xbox sharing between 2 you have one xbox (I'll say living room) be your "Home" xbox. Anyone playing on that can access all the games you own even using a different gamertag.

Other room Xbox you'd have to log in as yourself to access those games.

I think you can set up XBL Gold with family, pretty sure both my wife and I could be online at the same time but haven't really tried.

Not sure what PS4 does, but that's a quick explanation on how to do it Xbox

PS4 is basically the same. You can set one system as your primary, and anyone playing on that system can access games and online with their account, even if they don't have PS Plus.
